Go look at performance trucks, my buddy has the sandrail kit and has a 4.0 on a 408 putting in his 86 chevy truck. He is going to run a COPO TB with crusher inlet.

Been running a 4.0 Whipple on a built 408 for over 3 years now. Had a hell of a lot of fun with it. Made a best of 969/1110 which is 300 foot pounds more than the Shelby GT500 with the 4.0. Keeping in mind we were pushing beyond the limits of what the blower was meant to do, a milder setup with a more reasonable ratio on the pulleys would be a regular hoot on the street or strip.

WRP your the only other guy I know who has one for an LS setup that posts. I thought you made more power than that, didnt you use to be a 6speed? I take it your running Th400 now, badass numbers through that trans.

I am only running a 408. The small bore hurts. I had a really strong T56 built but the vendor was 5 months late delivering so I went with the FTi Stage V TH400 and never have looked back.

This is a 408 ls motor, I am putting it in a 86 Chevy full size pickup. I wanted a big blower pulley starting out since its in a truck. Gonna be hard to hook.
