What kind of time frame is he looking at to have the transmission control added to the box?

the tranny controller should be out soon, within a few weeks i think, then he is going to work on putting it in, and attaching it to the internal can bus the ECU has

then you can do crazy **** like boost by gear and traction control that will lower boost or timing etc, wild

getting ready to drop a 5.3 in my friends nova, this box i have for testing is going on his nova, turbo 5.3, gt45 turbo.

cant wait to get it running and testing with a turbo.
had to repin 4 pins today, changed firing order options in my prototype harness and i already had it wired, you can pop the connector apart and just swap the pins and then pop the connector back together, its ****** awesome.

i swapped 8 pins in like 2 minutes.

Matt could I use my harness that I built for my ms1? And maybe just add what I need for the ms3 . That way I could just buy the ecm.

not really, you would have to totally re-do it anyway.

you're better off selling that harness with the ms1 if you want to use this

the sequential fuel and ignition wiring is what makes the major difference.

Is this harness kind of like the MS3+MS3X harness? I.e. a **** ton of wires? If so, this is really an awesome deal to get MS3+MS3X functionality with Ampseal connectors and a harness for all of it for $700..... I was intending to build another one since I already have an MS3X sitting here, but damn, this is tempting!

That is fantastic! I'm going to definitely consider this instead of building one.

With regard to the transmission controller, they aren't going to cram that in the same box somehow, are they? So far guys have been using an additional MS2 of some sort for that, and ideally sharing info with the engine controller over CAN as I think you mentioned. If they managed to cram a trans controller in this same box it would be amazing. I'm guessing not.

they are going to put the trans controller inside this box, absolutely, that was his idea all along going to add another connector for it,

same box he designed it to have more room.

he actually designed it so he can lay two ms3 boards in that box and do custom applications

Matt, can you elaborate on all the things that make this lsx specific? I have no experience with megasquirt and I was going to get the ms1/6010 but if this is that much better I'm willing to go ***** out on the ms3x

These are the features:
•Supports speed density, alpha-N (TPS based), or MAF based fuel and spark tables
•1 microsecond injector pulse width resolution
•Tables for nonlinear injector behavior at small pulse widths
•Allows blending multiple load types, including specialized mode for independent throttle bodies
•Supports a wide variety of OEM cam and crank position sensors
•Individual cylinder trim tables for fuel and ignition
•Accelerator pump or model based acceleration enrichment
•Closed or open loop idle speed control
•Closed or open loop boost control with two separate wastegate outputs, and gear or speed based tuning options
•On/off or closed loop continuously variable valve timing (VVT) control - supports up to 4 channels
•On/off or progressive nitrous control
•Traction control by VSS or RPM
•Rally anti-lag with rotational idle
•Rotary support - can run up to 4 rotor engines with separate leading and trailing spark tables
•Staged injection
•Table switching
•16 x 16 fuel and spark tables - can be reconfigured to function as 30 x 16 or 16 x 30 by switching tables based on RPM or load
•2 or 3 step rev limiter (launch control) with no-lift shifting
•Wideband AFR target tables
•Flex fuel sensor input for easy switching between gasoline and E85 - can automatically change fuel, ignition, and boost maps based on ethanol content of gasoline
•Knock control with adjustable crank angle windowing can adjust sensitivity based on RPM or which cylinder is firing
•Allows repurposing injector or ignition outputs as general purpose outputs, or high current outputs as injector drivers for 12 cylinder sequential applications
•Real time barometric correction (external sensor required)
•A/C and cooling fan control with idle compensation
•Safety shutdown based on AFR or EGT input
•Sequential shift cut and air shifter control
•Diagnostics to detect and ignore failing sensors - can even automatically switch from speed density to alpha-N in the event of a MAP sensor failure

It comes out to $25 more then MS1/6010 combo so you can't go wrong, plus it has a built in boost control so that's another $300+ saved.
