^ I get that that's an impressive list of features but what I don't get is what about this compared to a standard ms3 makes this "lsx specific"

So you have to buy the ms3 harness and the ms3x harness correct?

No you can buy the MS3Pro for $725 and it comes withe harness, has connectors that plug into the MSDpro, then it they are labeled with Injector1, coil1, etc.. You only have to buy the connectors and terminate the labelled wires to the LS1/2/3 , it is already setup for 24xLS1 but you can change the programming for other engines, plus all the features is enough for me. You have to pay $350+for the MS1, then you have to solder connections and terminate the wire harness.

That would come with the new plug/play harness that comes ready to go. You just have to hookup power/ ground, plug the plugs into your LS and fire it up. The one I bought will need connectors, fit the harness to the engine, relays and fused power. It costs $500 extra to get the harness ready to go.

If you go with Megasquirt 3 with MS3x you have to buy the two harnesses. I bought the box and two harnesses for 875 with next day shipping.

These are the harnesses that require building.

Ill have all the stuff tomorrow and share the photos.

Things are getting a bit confused here, let me try to clear things up a little. All three products mentioned are based on the Megasquirt-3 technology and have the same software features.

"MS3 / MS3X" is the original DIY originated product which can be purchased as a full ECU or in kit form for self assembly. Loom pigtails are available to build your own loom.
This is a universal solution that works on many engines including LS 24X + 58X.

"MS3-Pro" is one professional version of the MS3X with additional options built-in, again it is a universal solution and comes with loom pigtails. It comes from DIYAutotune.

This topic has mainly been discussing a third derivative.
The new box from EFI Source is aimed at specific engines and while it _could_ be used universally, as I understand it that is not the intended market. You can buy bare loom pigtails or EFI-Source have complete OEM quality looms ready to plug your LS motor into the ECU for a simple hookup. (They look great.)

yes thank you james!

the gold box, efi source MS3 designed for LS engines is not the base ms3, or the ms3x sold by DIY or the MS3PRO sold by DIY

we need to think of a codename for it lol

How about "MS3 Gold Box," or something else ridiculously simple..... Lol

Thanks for clearing things up James, nothing like having information from the source!

Can anyone explain how the boost control feature works? And I am not talking about just copying and pasting what is written about it lol!

I am familiar with manual, electronic, and also CO2 based controllers and how they work as stand alone units but for some reason I am not picturing this in my head. It is however only 6am though......

it works just like an electronic stand alone boost controller
you get a solenoid, one they sell or a commonly used one.

and you increase the duty cycle and that increases the amount of boost, i honestly dont use it, i like a manual boost controller or a electronic one in the car i can adjust if i want that feature. like the tru boost.

you will always need to use your laptop to adjust the boost level, and i dont want that

I wonder if I could get MSDroid to be able to adjust the MS3x boost control on my setup. I'll report back.

Everything is labeled and ready to go! All you have to do is hook up a few power lines and grounds, connect O2 sensor and that is it!
