that's a better way of looking at it. I think the most consistent awnser I've seen here is the 20W50 but that in no way means that's the right awnser.

Any thoughts on this.

LS3 w supercharger, Forged motor with Clevite-77 bearings and 0.002" clearance, and im running with E85 fuel.

Been thinking of swapping to Rotella full synthetic? I´ve been using Mobil 1 / GM 5-30w earlier.

Ask your builder/machinist his thoughts.

I'm running VR-1 20-50. I'm asking the same because right now idle cold idle is 60psi and when she's hot at WOT I'm at 80psi. 5.3 twin turbo. I like the zinc in the VR-1 but concerned oil pressure is a little high. Would the Rotella T6 bring it down to around 50-75psi range?

I went from running VR-1 20w-50 to Rotella 15W-40. I frequently change my oil and it's good stuff for cheap.

Same as my oil pressure per the stock gauge (take it for what it's worth). My motor has been together for 3 years now.

I run Rotella 15w-40.

Did you guys see your pressure drop a little when you switched? I'm just concerned at the 80+ psi at WOT

Martin, that's what I'm running now but my pressure is way high....60psi at idle and 80 at WOT. I've read Louis' thread on oils and zinc....it looks like Rotella 15w-40 has a good amount too. I just want to bring my oil pressure down a little.

Perhaps more important than which oil, how often are you changing it?

I run T6 5w-40 but I'm changing it after every 2 track visits, or roughly 6 1/4 passes. Is this overkill? Doing everything I know to keep the stock motor going strong.
