Which stock wires? The Gto are red, if I'm not mistaken. So would give you the look. I've always used MSD, but no doubt that nothing gives the definitive click on feeling like the stock. Do the gm red wires click on like the early ls?

Just crimp the end with needle nose pliers before you snap them on....then they will snap on.

Firecore wires are hands down the best out there and they are even making the hottest ls coils you can get. I chased a lot of issues because of msd wires.

Yea, all the reading/research I've done shows that one wire over another cannot add power.....or at least an amount that will even show up on a dyno sheet. So I guess the BEST wire is simply the one that offers the strongest and most durable construction.....

I like the truck coil Taylor 10.4 wire combo but I don't think there's much of a difference between them and my ls1 coil with msd wires. If you can't tell your wires are on all the way you shouldn't own a turbo LS in the first place

I bought a set of Taylor Thunderbolts 10.4mm years ago. First time I removed them 5 of them broke very easily pulling them by the boot. The clamp stayed on the spark plug and yanked the wire right out of the rubber boot. $36.00 Advance Auto wires are WAY better construction.......and perform identical on my 427ci.

And yea......if I had any doubt my wires weren't on tight to the spark plug I wouldn't drive it.......a bad misfire at high rpm can take an a engine out or blow a head gasket.....screw that.

But as for the wires, I really like the MSD's. To the people saying they are going to try the taylor 10.4's. Have fun... I took the same plunge, I was thinking, "Well I am not exactly sure if they will be less resistance than MSD's, but they are a BEEFY looking wire, so that is cool in and of itself!" I'll give them a try!"

Bad decision on my part. You guys will find out also. The FIRST time I got to take the wires off, the insides separate on 2 different wires at the spark plug end. I wish I could say I was pulling on the wire and not on the boot too! Cause then it would just be the fact that I was an idiot.

Anyways, just a heads up, I think the Taylor wires are horribly designed. I even still have 6 of them that are sitting around just in case I burn through an MSD. I wouldn't mind sending a couple to someone. lol

lol.....you and I are not the only ones. Every person I know personally has found out the hard way........the Taylor wires break for almost everyone when they are removed. And yup....it's not a matter of pulling them by the wire.....if you pull by the boot or with a boot tool it doesn't matter....because as you said, the wire clamp stays on the plug and yanks the damn wire out.....

Taylor = Junk......

Granitelli guarantees you can yank their wires by the WIRE and they will not break. Or they will keep replacing them for life.......so I'm gonna try them maybe.

Burgess Performance Stock Block LS MPH Record Run - YouTube

Yup....that's the verdict for me. Truck coils and either Granitelli or Firecore.

I just contacted Firecore for pricing on a set of LSx wires.......they haven't replied yet.

How much are they....?

I agree, I forgot the price on the firecores, but are constructed with quality.

That pretty funny.^^^^^ I have heard this since I remember the MSD coils coming out.

As stated previously I have used the Summit brand wires and the MSD wires and didn't have very much luck with either. The Taylor wires I used back in the day were alright but broke after a couple of removals. Ever since I switched to the GMPP wires, no issues. I may try the firecore wires this time. I haven't decided yet.

Taylor's are horrible, the connectors came apart first time I swapped out the plugs(look them up). MSD are better but I'm going to give Firecore's a try.

$120 for the Firecore's, make sure you know the length I bought some but were too long(truck coil specs.)
