Project Land Whale (Silverado Turbo Build)

Sorry to hear about your engine damage.
How did you manage to have the intercooler pipes to clear between the headlights and radiator? Do you have the 28" wide radiator?
I have 34" radiator that came on 05+ trucks with stock electric fans and there is no room between the headlights and the radiator. I would love to route my IC pipes like yours instead of coming from underneath the radiator between the frame rails.
Can you post pics from the front showing how the IC pipes fit between the rad and headlights?

For anyone who isn't following my build on PT. I Toyed with the idea of building with an S10 instead of this going forward. Actually, I more than toyed with the idea, I bought an S10. After a few discussions, and lots of thought I decided to continue the build with this truck. The chase to be the fastest is not one I will ever win and so instead I am going to build what I want to build.
So, this truck is going to be going through radical changes. Pretty much everything got sold off of the truck and I will be going with a new turbo and engine setup.
To start off, I will be stripping the truck down to do some general cleaning and frame work and lots of weight is going to be coming out. Over the last few days I have gotten the interior stripped to the point I can plan out wiring, etc.
Here is where the truck sits at the end of today.

Taking out an engine sucks, I don't care how much you had in it. Everybody that loses sleep over running stock rod bolts should take a close look at the picture of the two "big ends" left on the crank in the picture. Rod bolt failure? Nope! These engines can break. Yes they can take a bigger beating than the gen 1 stuff (oem), but 500,600,700 rwhp is a lot. Sorry about the carnage.

At least I am a man of my word.

Last night I stripped out what was left on the firewall. Pedals, liner, etc. Pulled some more wiring from the engine bay and started pulling the fenders off as well. Gutted both air bags and I believe I have a way to mount both covers without the actual air bag in them.
Between all the wiring, sensors, bags, charges, etc. I pulled 31 lbs from the airbag system alone.

A couple small things accomplished tonight.
In case anyone was wondering what it weighs, I took the rubber liner off the firewall and weighed it. I was getting rid of it anyway so I chopped it into pieces and threw it in a bucket and put it on the scale. With the foam on the back and minus the weight of the bucket it is basically dead on at 15lbs. I also weighed the padding under the carpet and it is pretty much exactly 7lbs. So, there is 22lbs lost.
I am going to try to get the entire HVAC system weighed up tomorrow and posted.
I also started refinishing the dash mount bar that is bare steel as well as the brake and accelerator pedal arms as they have gotten pretty nasty. I will try to get some pictures of that progress up soon.
Since I can't swap seats due to the built in seat belt I am going to look at them closely to see what I can do to remove some of the weight from them.
