Default Should I order a different pulley?

Upcoming Mods:
ForceFed HP Stage II 6.0L, TR224/227-114, D1SC, FLP Long Tubes, etc.

I have read that people dont see as much boost (the full 8psi) when they free up the air path. I am also going to run stock internals.

Basically I dont want to waste tuning money if I am going to end up swaping pulleys and uping the boost.

Also, if I should order a pulley--which one? Would ATI be the easiest place to purchase from?
Thanks

As far a si know ATI is the only place to order pulleys from and there $90 a pop or so with shipping....... And if you replace the pulley from something different than what cam with it voids the warranty..... order like a 3.6 or a 3.2" pulley i saw 7 psi with that pulley.

Well are they "rated" at anything just to give me an idea of how much more over a stock D1SC is throwing at it? D1SC is "rated" at 8psi, so is there any comparison like that to these pulleys?

Thanks again

I believe they said a 3.6" pulley was rated at 8 psi for a stock motor..... i saw 4 psi with a 4" blower pulley and at the time i had LT's no cats, catback, small baby cam 212/218 .522/.529 on a 114LSA..... with a 3.2" blower pulley i saw 7 psi..... and whith a MMS 7.85" crank pulley and 4" blower pulley i saw 11 psi. Hope that helps a little. With heads its going to be less boost but the same amout of power, just more efficient. Sorry cant spell.

Wow, that was quick

So a 3.2" might not be a bad way to go. Did you order that from ATI, or do you know if any of the Sponsors can get that to me?

Thanks

Not sure if any of the sponsors can get them... probably can and cheaper too. If i remember right they were like $90 from ATI and them damn SOB's only ship 2 day air.... dang new crank bolt was $5 bucks and the washer was $1 and shipping was $12..... so $18 for a washer and a bolt....... oh well..... yeah im always on late and im running trillian for my messenger set-up and it pops up on my screen and tells me when someone replies on Tech to me....... Ill be on for prob anothe 1.2 hr or so if you have anymore ????????

Thanks for all the info.

Prob going to give Paul@TR a call on monday, along with those guys from ATI. I bought the D1SC used with black plenum. Ordered a polished one from them along with new crank bolt almost 2 weeks ago, just looked and I havnt even been billed for the thing uhg!

Edit: Ah, I thought I used my credit, just logged into checking and there is the charge from ATI, nice to know that fugger should actually be on its way!

Whos doing the install and what are you doing for Fuel?????? thats a biggie.... PumP??? Injectors?? I went with a single Walbro 340 intank... cheap $115 but i bought the Racetronix's kit..... easy to install and did 42# injectors..... What gauges do you have..... Get a good Boost gauge and gt a good Fuel Pressure gauge and keep and eye on it under WOT because if you go lean you could end up with this.........

so be carful and i cant stress enough about tuning.... i learned the hard way about going for 7 to 11 psi without a retune.......

I am doing the RaceTronix kit with whatever pump it comes with, think thats enough? With 42lb injectors

Far as gauges, as of now: Autometer Carbon Fiber (I know, I am not a huge Carbon fiber fan, but the blower came with a CF Boost gauge, so why the hell not lol) Boost, A/F, and water temp--oh do I hate our factory temp gauge.
Having Black Magic in Hayward, CA install the hardware, followed by tuning over at Newtech, Newtech--not Nu-Tek lol.

Damn, almost though I could escape an expensive gauge What would you suggest for a fuel pressure, one of the Autometers?

Yeah go with one of the Autometer Fuel Pressure gauge. F/P is very important and yeah its one of the most exspensive gauges.... but whats a $200-$250 for a gauge compared to a new motor........ Heres another pic of how i have it Its FP and A/F in the A- pillar pod now both 2 1/16 gauges and a 2 5/8 boost gauge in the left, center A/C vent.

Do it right from the beginning bro
Im out man... night............

Yes you will...... when you order the pulley ask what belt size to buy.

Just an FYI.

My car = Long tube headers and catback

3.6 w/D1SC = about 8 lbs
3.4 w/D1SC = about 9 lbs

Your results may vary.
