Unhappy

[QUOTE=Cam72aro;17394318]No worries.

You are not going to run a higher stall? Why not? A stock converter will die quickly. A 3200-3600 converter will be essential in turbo spool, without it the car won't get into the power band and spool. My car has a 3600 in it, when I nail it in 3rd on the freeway it flashes and goes into boost instantly. The motor will lift the heads before you run out of turbo. That turbo is a little small for that motor, but with that spool will be earlier. It might not make as much power past a certain rpm but will more

i had a very bad experience with the stalled convertors. This is the reason why am trying to avoid them.

Will the 88-47 make the power? Maybe. You will for sure run out of steam fast I. The rpm range.

Is this a car that is going to see the track often? If yes, or only a track car and those are the only choices it would be the 4788. HOWEVER, I would get a 1.23 or 1.39 housing for it!
Car will be used for Street/highway racing and hopping to see 900rwhp
Id love to see the boost kicking in at 3000RPM and pulls up to 6800RPM

3200 should be the max I can go, I'll be using this car for highway racing.
Back to the topic... Is there any precission turbo than what I have posted? As mentioned... I have to stick to precission

Do you have a part number for that pro Mod turbo?
What A/R and compressor sizing?

Mines a garrett but hope it helps you some. You can see what all i have in my sig on a 402 with a GT47-88 & 1.23ar, mildly ported 317's, 10.2:1cr.... 949rw @ 22psi. I wouldn't go with anything but a T6 on a 400+" motor imo. But i'm far from being as knowledgeable as the majority of the guys in this forum. I just read through a whole lot of posts and saw what's worked and tried it out. Good Luck with it!

yes the PT4788 is rated at more with 1475. the pt8847 is rated at 1400, which the gt is as well. but some sites claim the gt to do 1500hp.
the pt88 is rated at 1250
i guess it depends if your t4 or t6

https://turbodaves.com/HP_Street_-_Race_Turbos.html..

i agree with that the gt will do it more efficiently

I have only 2 options to go on the turbo
1- GT4788, AR is 1.08
2- PT88-47H, AR is 0.96

Firebird, TH400 tranny
408 lsx short block
CNC'd Ls3 heads (Compression is 9.2)

which one will be the best for my engine, Am shooting for 900rwhp

Thanks and appreciate your feedback
on the pt88-47 i made 937 rwhp on 408 cubes/turbo 400 on 20lbs, stock 317 heads, definetly a bad piece, back pressure could be a problem on higher boost tough

I have a friend with a pt88 it works awesome. His car runs deep in the 9's on drag radial with ac. but i'm sure there are other options but I see the pt88 work great all the time on his 408.

Appreciate your feedback guys. I've got a nice sweet deal on the GT5088 from Garret's it has the 88mm compressor, 99mm turbine and 108AR
I wanted to stick to the gt47 and the lt88 at the begging but after discovering this GT50 ... It made me think a lot about the $$ and the HP
Looks like am going with it as it should suit my 408 perfectly
