Ben, I sent you an e-mail back to you late last night. I really think a spring loaded tensioner would help you out. Bob

You'll have to let me know how it works out. Bob

Well, the spring tensioner seems to have worked so far! Saw 26.3psi yesterday but haven't finished tuning. Will we need to run two red race valves on a 388 or will one suffice? 3.5" hot side, 4" cold side piping

That is great news!

I would run two race valves, as this point you don't want to end up getting belt slippage when the throttle slams shut. Bob

Plan on installing the valve Wednesday, thanks Bob.

Been an interesting battle sorting this belt slip out. I was disappointed I was a spectator at LS Fest but LSX Shootout is looking promising at this point! It was making some decent power at 960hp before but the belt was slipping some mid range and at 21psi it would fall off. Had to go back and redo the blower side of the bracket and add a different tensioner. It took a lot longer than I'd expected to redo that but the efforts seemed fruitful! The car is now hitting over 26psi with the filter on! We didn't take time to take the filter off since the bumper cover has to come off plus the tuning isn't complete; however, when it was off a week ago it was up about 80-100HP mid range before it hit the OS kpa ceiling.

Video isn't that great because I wasn't planning to take one, so we'll do some better ones when the filter comes off.

Here is run 40 from a month ago when the belt was slipping vs. run 43 where the belt slip was fixed and the filter was off but hit the OS ceiling. You can see the drastic difference in mid range power! I can't wait to see up top.

Here's the graph, run 40 was a month ago with 21psi and the belt slipping, no filter vs. run 48 was today with the air filter on, 3* less timing, 5psi more!

You're welcome! I'm glad to see it's working out for you, hopefully you won't have to be a spectator anymore! Bob

I'm interested as well... I'm debating upgrading from an f1a-94 to the X and have a similar size motor on the smaller end of what I see used for X blowers (365ci). It made 1026whp at 7,000 rpm @22lbs

If youre already seeing 22 psi at 7k with the F1a, how much do you think you are gonna see with the X if you have it pullied enough to actually come in early? Feldman sees 25-26 psi with the 4"/8" pullies on his X with a restrictor plate, on a 427", 305 Mast heads and big solid roller...

Assuming you pullied an X even remotely similar to that, you're gonna see 30 psi on a 365" with a MUCH smaller cam.... You comfortable with that on E85 alone? That's the only problem I see...If you run a big enough pulley to keep the boost level in check for pump/meth or E85, the blower will likely be lazy down low. If you run a decent size pulley like a 4.25" or something, its gonna put a ton of air in your motor, ie, youre gonna see a ton of boost pressure, even with it restricted.

How much boost do you feel you can safely run on your combo?

I'm sub'd to see what you come up with... I have thoughts of an X as well but I'm not comfortable with over 25 psi on pump/meth on a 4 bolt motor.

I figure run 4.25/8" combo to 7100rpm and my current 4" inlet pipe and filter/intercooler pipes as the restrictor and let it eat
