Is this something you would recommend for someone who's trying to learn how to tune? I'm tired of paying for tunes. I was looking at the holley set up, but that bitch is pricey!

is it a few hundred more well spent?

absolutely easy to plug in and although there are lots of tables for advanced features its easy to get your feet wet with the fuel and spark only tables to get your car running and if you change something to retune easily

the gold box has an incredible feature set, but if you are building a budget car and you dont want to touch wiring at all, this is the best plug and play for your money, and i think also the cheapest that you can hook right up and tune in real time

So basicaly ,if you had a motor sitting in a car everything you need to make it run is in this kit? You dont use any of the factory harness or computer? I would just plug this into my laptop?
These questions may sound dumb to you but I am completely lost on EFI and computers.

valid questions, not a problem

yes you can plug this into a motor on an engine stand and fire it so long as you have fuel going through the stock intake.

it comes with EV1 connectors, he sells plugin adaptors that swap it to ev6 for an additional 30 dollars i believe.

or you can cut them off and put on whatever injector piggy you want

but yes.

it has the new style map sensor plug for the stock 1bar map, you could pplug and play a 2.5 bar zr1 style map or buy an older style 3 bar map and pigtail from him or anyone else and throw that on too and then read up to 30lbs of boost

then yes the tuning software for a laptop or computer is free from Tunerstudio for Megasquirt based ECU's wich this is

it can do high and low yes, but using highs is easier, some low's might need fine tuning wich can be a pain in the ***

Great job and price point, at that price I don't even think I would bother with stock harness stuff for a swap.

I'd like to think a tab could be done cleanly.

I have a swap job sitting in my driveway that would be perfect for this harness Ill be watching these
