Default Compression Question

I would like to know if 10.5 to 11:1 is to much compression for boost in a LS1 with stock crank & forged rods and pistons. Thinking of getting a P1SC kit and running 6-8 pounds of boost. Could I get away with my current motor w/o changing anything or would I need to change head gaskets ? If I can stay with my current compression ratio will it last as a daily driver with the P1SC or would it have issues running like this ?

Youll be fine aslong as youre tune is spot on. If you plan on turning it up add meth to the mix or e85.

I'd run water/meth at 50/50 even at 6-8 or the tune will have to be very conservative. My daily driver runs water/meth and I swear by it. Get a decent size tank and you only need to refill it every 3rd tank of gas. I got an extra 48rwhp on water/meth, it runs much cooler intake air temps, plus the tune is safer. Check your knock sensors are working and run good gas. I'm daily driving a stock LS1 with cam at 6.5psi.

You already know the answer to your own question.

The only questions are when and how much stuff do you want to remove before you finally get to the gaskets themselves.

Replace them at your leisure on your terms with MLS units then add the supercharger!

Run ethanol if available. High comp is no problem.

Looks like the question has been answered a few times but yes it will work, It will work MUCH better with meth and will make huge HP if you can convert to e85. For the future I would look into a 9.6:1CR when your are going to build from the ground up. All of our pump gas guys seem to love the set up at this CR.
