Dean Goodin's Real Street 275 turbo kit: By Tick Performance

If that is true, and I know it isn't, Dean has been running illegally for over a year and a half, and Matt Lawrence as well as he also runs square port heads.

Says nothing about it there.

Where have you ever heard that? It has never said anything about what port is legal and what isn't. It states a 15 degree valve angle or 13.5 degree with weight penalty.

The motor plate lowered it down further than what a solid stand or motor mount would place it at, and Dean had already cut and removed his cowl due to the nitrous LS3 having a carb on it.
There is no telling where the stock motor would of sat in his car compared to where it does now.

Jose,
As long as he can keep the head gaskets in that car it will roll out, but both times he's gotten after it to run those times he has hurt head gaskets as you can see in that video. On a more conservative tune Jason's car is a 5.25-5.28 car all day long. I know he'll get it figured out for sure.
His 60' was like 1.26' on that 5.40 pass(and that happened last year when everyone was running 5.30's-5.40's and matt had just barely broken into the 5.20's)and I believe Jason's was 1.16'. Dean's car had high 5.20's in it the way it was with the nitrous set-up, but turbo is the way to go for sure.
In RS275 if you can run consistent 5.20's without spinning or blowing up, you will be a winner.

The cam for this car is smaller than yours too, and it's a race car.
Thanks!
Can't wait to see how that cam I did for you helps yours out!

ill swap it out eventually, we will see what happens, my goals are not 5.20s but that sure would be nice!! How much boost do you think its going to take?
What boost controller are you guys going with? Going to give boostleash a try woth their bump box.

We cannot run any type of boost controller other than a simple twist style turbosmart controller as that is what we have for it.
This class is not like the LSX Real Street class in that it does not allow progressives, or electronic/co2 boost controllers, 12* valve angle heads, 440 c.i. or less and no billet compressor wheels on turbos.
With all of that said our class record in nearly .3 tenths faster than LSX Real Street. The guys in our class get after it, and get after it as the best Real Street Racers in the nation.
Our class has been around a little longer then LSX Real Street and it took our guys a while to go the speeds that they are going now. Class progression is inevitable and LSX Real Street will be there soon as well. Charlie Polly has a class killer engine now, you got LPE that has been 8.30's and high 5.30's, Preston's who have been 5.30's and 8.30's in the 1/4 as well. RPM is really going to show their stuff as well this year. It will be good racing.

Martin just curious, why did you run the turbo in such a way that you have so much exhaust in the engine bay? I am mounting my turbo in the same spot you did but I am going to 180 it and shoot the exhaust straight out that side.
