Mechanical injected 5.3 with turbo
Hello, I have a project in the works, a 67' camaro proven 9.30s drag car, J.W. glide and built 12 bolt 4:88 gears, my question is, I want to reposed this car with a budget 5.3 turbo build and we have an mechanical alcohol direct port injection with a 4" single blade throttle body, can anyone think of and foreseeable problems running this setup with a eBay gt45 and a wideband

I have never ran blow thru on mechanical injection but I think if setup was originally NA setup then you better get different barrel valve and supporting necessities.

Ok so what's the deal with the barrel valve? My dad bought this injection several years ago, it's an enderle 1800 cfm unit that's all I know so far, I have seen that they sell different valves for blown, tunnel ram or alcohol combos, I figured it would just be a matter of dialing in the orfice combo

Somehow it has to be boost referenced. In my understanding once WOT the barrel valve flows fuel at "x" amount. Well if take off at 5 psi and 1,000 rpm later you're at 15 psi either A. you're going to rich as hell at 5 psi because tuned for 15 psi or lean as hell at 15 psi because tuned so won't be super rich down low. I may be way off on this matter truthfully. Anybody with more knowledge want to chime in? Goto Ron's fuel injection site and look at his Procharger/blow thru toilet bowls. May give you more knowledge.

Thanks y'all, this could go either way but I would like to keep the injection it looks bad *** sitting on the motor, but I haven't ruled out efi completely, mechanical injection or not I would like to get hp and start tuneing

I have enderle bug catcher on 421 sbc of mine that dynoes 1128 to the flexplate (6-71 on alky). I love the injection. I think of you call Ron's he can help you convert to boost. Friend runs homemade mechanical alky injection on his small block (non LS) and says only way to go. That bad **** is like 1800-1900 FHP though, crazy!!!!

Ill call him and see, we have all the paperwork for that system back at the shop, in a perfect world I could swap a few parts on the injection and drill and tap a carb manifold and have a kick *** 5.3, I'm tired of looking at them on you tube, it's my turn lol

The BV does not need to be boost referenced, you need to have a boost enrichment valve for a second set of nozzles.. You idle and part throttle on one set of nozzles, and then at a certain boost the 2nd set comes on.
Most people start off with the standard cube valve, and machine the slot a little bit until your staging becomes smoother..
The LS we are building will be MFI also...

They are commercial made now, and matched to the correct converter , works pretty good
