Default Safe and/or possible to drive to the tuner?

Hey Everyone,
So, I'm almost ready to finally put a Procharger on my '00 SS. Question is, once I do the mod(s), will I be able to drive it to the tuning shop (Tick Performance is 40 miles away) with the following mods done all at once?
Note: I'm not holding anyone to hard facts...just looking more for past experience under the same circumstances.

Installed Now:
1. BBK 1-7/8" Longtubes - NO Emissions.
2. EGR Deleted
3. Currently have an SLP Tune Flash, but obviously I'll remove that before installing the blower.

Installing:
1. Seimens 60lb injectors.
2. 255/hr Pump.
Note: We have 93 Octane w/ or w/o Ethanol around here, not 91.
3. Procharger P1SC1 Kit w/ 4.5" Hi-Flow Twin Intercoolers. Shooting for an 8psi setup with a 6-rib and 3.2" pulley.
4. Boost Limiting Valve set to 9 psi mounted near the bypass.

I've heard a couple people say on other threads that it's not possible to drive with an injector swap before a tune. Is that true?

Any advice would be appreciated. Rollbacks can't access the area where the install will occur, and if trailered we'll need a winch to pull the car uphill out of the garage.

IF it was my car /which it is not/wish it was,I would not even start it up
with the 60 #injectors and procharger both installed before my turner did some changes to the tune
just my .02' Johnny
ps if you must push it up hill,I would go to Haber Freight/or some like supplier and buy/rent a cheep wench

With the 60lb injectors it most liekly wont run right even at idle. As for the blower you could always pull the blower belt off and leave some kind of filter and maf on the TB and drive it wherever. Basically if its too much trouble to trailer it then let tick install the injectors when you get it there and leave the blower belt off and the intake pipe off. Then throw the stock maf and a filter on it for the short drive.

Best option is to send them the computer and have them flash a base tune in there and then you can have everything installed ready to go for the drive there.

Take enough tools to pull fuel rails. Drive there without going into boost. Change injectors in their parking lot. You can't run different injectors without a tune.

I agree, change the injectors once you are there. If you only drive it at part throttle, you could drive it across country to get it tuned and you won't hurt anything. Resist all urges to get into it, and you won't hurt anything. Bob

^ This.
Do not install the injectors until the car is at the shop. You will run the risk of washing down the cylinder walls and tearing up piston rings due to lack of lubrication. Put them in in the parking lot there is only 4 bolts and will take you 5 min tops.

With my old car I swapped from stock to 42s and drove easy to the tuner along with cam swap and worked stock heads. I tryed to keep below 2500 rpm all the way there though. Going bigger injector could dump to much fuel in cylinders but most likely if it runs it will run like crap all the way there. You'll have to fight to keep it running.

Like others have said don't drive it with the 60's in it .I started mine up when I first installed my D1 and it ran like crap and just bellowed out black smoke (only for 10 seconds) before I realized I still had the stock internal bolt ons tune PCM in it .So I wouldn't even start it up just to be safe. Once I put the programmed PCM in it ran 100% better.

Thanks for the compliment on my car, Johnny! Yours looks sharp as well! Silver or black, or silver AND black are the way to go IMO!

Thanks to EVERYONE for the advice!
After the install, I'll probably start it up to see what happens, but I'll definitely leave the injectors off until I get to the tuner.

We'd be more than willing to help you install them once you get here. Might cost you a few bucks, but we'll do it for a reasonable price while it's on the dyno.

I forgot to mention one other mod I'll be doing in the process...I'll also be adding the colder NGK plugs set to a .035" gap. Will my car still run ok on the factory setup with those until I get to the tuner?

Ok everyone...I've got an update
Everything except the 60lb Injectors, 2-Bar MAP Sensor, and the MAF-less piping from the plenum box to the TB is FINALLY installed! (I will install all that once I arrive at the tuner.)

So....I took it for it's first test drive today and it ran fine. My ONLY concern is that my AEM wideband is showing an A/F ratio of 16+...even at idle. Is this normal for pre-tune numbers, and is it still safe to drive?
(Note: During the test-drive, I never once got into boost, but I also noticed that the A/F ratio actually DECREASED when I gave it more throttle?? Down into the 14's.)

Advice/opinions?
