Got my hi ram the other day and was doing a little test fit and wow. My **** is already trimmed about a 1/4 away from the glass, and it still isnt even close to fitting. Im assuming the best way to cut it is with a die grinder, i dont know though never cut glass in my life.
Any of you have a close up picture of how much glass needs to be trimmed?

Its sitting on top of a pair of LS9 heads. I didnt think the rectangular port intake would be taller then the cathedral. Shimming the k-member would work...kinda. But it would throw off my turbo kit, and besides that it would need to be moved down about a inch to fit.

Got it fitted and the windshield back in. Has about 1/4" clearance from intake to glass. Its a monster intake thats for damn sure. I am running a fiberglass bolt on WS6 hood. So i will be making some major cuts to make this work with my hood. Will post those pics once done.

Im not a Holley basher, not at all but I returned my LS1 Hi-Ram back to Jegs. We all spend big bucks on CNC heads and we read the flow numbers. The port match was just so ridiculous and hardly two ports alike. The injector angle is also not correct. Upper casting is "off" about 1/16" to 1/8". Its a big bad intake but not worth it to me. By the time I would have to take off so much material to port match, the intakes walls would be paper thin one one side.
To each his own and I really do mean that but I dont understand justifying the major compromise in port match and all the chopping you have to do. If they came out with a Hi-Ram2 with a better casting I would buy it. Dont know if its harder to make a good casting verses a bad one. Just my thoughts. It does look mean, Ill give them that. I hope that Holley comes out with a new, improved version. The Edelbrock is just plain ugly.

i have a buddy that did a monster intake recently and he removed the passengers wiper and made it a single blade setup. looks surprisingly good.
Like just leaving the passenger wiper and linkage Im guessing? Removing the rest? That wouldn't be bad. Id space my kmember down to help it a little if I ever done one anyway. Cause when other engine gets built im changing my turbo setup.
