Default turboing a stock motor question

my buddy has an 01 5.3. he has a turbonetics 7868 t4 turbo .96 a/r. he and i were wondering if he could just put his 1.8 hs rockers on and ls6 valve springs with his stock cam and heads. will he benefit from this or doesnt matter. looking to run 15psi. thanks in advance

I'd say, just turn up the boost 3 psi and be done with it.

ok thanks. will the ls6 valve springs be good enough to stop valve float.

I put some dual springs on it

With stock cam and heads, LS6 springs will be fine. Keep the RPMs below 7000 and you should be fine with the LS6 springs. BUT... dual springs are always better. (Reason: If one of the dual springs breaks, the other will help keep the valve from tapping the piston. Saves your valves, pistons, heads from a lot of extra work if one fails. )
