Exclamation Where to get a cam from?

I've been tossing the idea around of piecing a turbo combo together out of some parts I have laying around. I've got some CNC'd TFS 235's, an aluminum 6.0 block and a super victor intake. A buddy of mine told me he would let me borrow his PT76 Billet Wheel, Ball Bearing turbo since his car will be down for a while due to some family business he has to take care of.

My question is that I have been seeing a lot of the results from a guy on another forum, think his username is LilJohn, and his setups seem to be making gobs of power for being relatively simple combos but I also see that Martin from Tick comes highly recommended as well.

My dilemma is that I haven't really seen anything from Martin's end in terms of forced induction and it's mainly been just simple stuff like bolt on cars with cams or maybe a budget stroker with a small shot.

What do you guys think? Haven't decided on a chassis yet but it will be something light and on a 26x8.50 Mickey Thompson.

Either of them will be a fine choice IMHO, I've heard enough about both of them to know they are good for a cam spec..

Martin is awesome to deal with, and will spend the time to explain exactly WHY he chose the specs he did.

Vote for Martin. I have NOT run my cam yet but I have spoken with him several times on the phone. I have had questions concerning bearing clearances, ring gaps, etc.... He has called me back on the weekend with answers and suggestions before. I have not had a chance to see the performance in his cam yet (car isn't running yet) but his customer service is some of the best I have ever dealt with.

FWIW-I plan to have mine up and running by LS fest and hope to improve my best of 6.04 to a 5.50. We'll see.

How about a 7.36@202mph in the 1/4 mile with a 1.30 60' and a lot left in the tank as far as E.T. with a single 106mm turbo and a 434 LSX? That is the fastest car that runs one of my camshafts. He races ODR in the LSX challenge series and MDRA X275.

I have done a lot of big power forced induction stuff. I don't post up a lot of the results I get.

I feel if you can't specify a good N/A cam, you shouldn't even try to fool with forced induction cam. Power on the dyno is also not the end all be all. How a car runs at the track, especially a boosted car is the tell all.

I'd be glad and more than happy to help you with your build.

Yes sir! How about full 12psi of boost@3500rpm with a 96mm turbine 1.32 AR housing that they say would NEVER spool with a 6 speed. Let alone with a 234/237 camshaft that "bleeds boost"! Ignorance is bliss!

Oh yea 103mph with a 6 speed on 12psi from a full weight car with a 10 bolt aint' too shabby neither.

I'd say that's a good thing, but losing a trans is not a good thing LOL!

Hey... If I vote for myself like Martin did would it be considered non vendor solicitation? Gotta make sure I dont break the rules.
