I see my name was thrown around and wanted to get clarification to this thread.
Having fastest stock block is broad between several different manufactures, so are you refering to a LS based GM block?
If so i do claim to have the Fastest Stock Block LS 6.0 in the country on Stock Suspension and a 275 Tire. I have documented my build with videos and threads sense 2009, so i have a good rap sheet for my claim.
I have only made very few races this year in Mean Street which is capped class and not been able to test any to get that 4sec pass, but i will and do it on Pump Gas.
I truly may not be the Fastest, but my posts and videos would claim and back it up. If someone can back up there build and claims and show they are faster then great job to them.
Thanks,
VB

If a worked 5.3 block counts, Litz went 4.8@150 on 275s @ 7.50@191? I believe

Damn! Where is the info backing up the 4.8x? That is ridiculous! Was it a stock block with stock sleeves in it?
Edit...just looked. He has a 4xx+" ERL block. I wouldn't consider a sleeved, "possibly" tall decked block....."stock."
Again, that is just MY opinion. Rays car is friggin fast! But then again, unless Ray comes on here and tells us what it is we will not know for sure!

Like I said if it counts, a stock stock block not sure, seen one make 1100 through a glide and not blow but couldn't seal the water
It's double oringed, both of them
Can't remember who but someone had a stock block ls1 4bolt setup went fast years ago pushing water bad, had a bov on the radiator I think, can't remember mid 8 or faster

I got this straight from Ray last night.....
"The block is a 5.3 truck block that ERL sleeved to a 4.125 bore 3.825 stroke 410ci. Callies magnum with 2.2 Big block journal callies ultra rods. All Pro 12-1 heads, solid roller. Peterson dry sump"

I really dont see the sleeved blocks (standard deck) like mine being valid in this thread. The Ohio boys also use stock ERL prepared blocks.
I really think that Kurt Urban runing 6's is the benchmark for stock blocks. I dont see that ever being surpased. With the current aftermarket options anybody that wants to really go fast (six's) would be using one.

Ray I agree, Kurt's 6 second deal is bad ***.. It would mean someone would have to put a motor like that in a light pro-stock or pro-mod style car..
Your combo is super impressive also, and I know Nick(whiteltone) has been talking about it for some time now.

Like i stated i claim it on a stock style suspension and a True stock block, no sleeves etc. Not saying that not legit that is up to Stroker. Just curious Stroker did this Kurt run 6s on what your asking in original post?

Which is this car I believe...
So as I said before, I know Kurt was the fastest all time stock block... I was looking for things more like yours, stock suspended, 10" tire, etc..

Gentlemen.....Stock 48 has been 5.41 and low 8s on stock internals, clearances, heads, etc... Van 383 has been 5.13 which is easily a 7 sec pass in the 1/4 on a GM LS Stock Block, No Earl Sleeves, special work etc.... Just stock GM block and forged internals. Both of these are completely different records and absolutely amazing!
