3.0 is getting a professionally built hot side, and a borg warner s476r v3 turbo, and a gen4 5.3l motor and the isky cam

formal update post

Due to rediculous import fees, i will not be selling the 3.0 car to my mexican friend, he has estimates over 3300 dollars so far in import fees and taxes etc, Honestly i just feel bad sticking him with that kinda bill, and i like the car, so i will keep it for now, what i am going to do now is, pull the weak point out of it wich is the gen3 4.8 and smaller turbo, and install the 5.3 i have and the better turbo and hotside and go nuts.

the black car is getting the 4.8 and a ls1 cam i have laying around and we will see how that does with the 60e, stock driveshaft and 7.5 rear end.

so that is the new experiment, saturday corey and i pulled the 4.8, removed the cam, and installed the ls1 cam, and installed it all back into the black car, going to be studding, and installing the isky cam, and then pac1218 valvesprings into the yellow car with the 2005 5.3l motor and the reiners hotside and s476 billet turbo.

should be nuts! this is the best choice i think because this yellow car has the fuel system, rear, trans, and converter to go nuts already.

also the hotside has arrived from my friend, check out that beaut

I recognize that hot side from my Facebook feed. That's courtesy of Tony, I'll guarantee it. Nothing sloppy about that guy's TIG's whatsoever.

Matt, After using these china turbo's Which do you like best for power, spool time, etc. between the GT45 and the on3? Also thanks for all the Great informative information. I have been out of racing for 20 years and these forums and videos have inspired me to get back into this stuff! Thanks

I would think it would go faster then 140 with 22psi and the 76r. I went 139 with 5.3 212/212 and stock s475/83 and tye car weights 3600 and at 16psi.

Replaced the front wheels on the engine hoist, one imploded last time we used it. did springs, cam, studs, on the 5.3 and installed it back in the yellow car, in under 5 hours while making a harbor freight trip, we are animals.

on3 76 lights off faster, even if it cant make the top end power the larger wheel 68 can it feels better in the car honestly, even with the isky cam out and the ls1 cam in the car it just feels so responsive.

Didn't stock48 run 8.39 @164 on the 76r at 22 PSI? I know it was a 6.0 but there wasn't much radical about his setup.

Heh... it does look weird without a rad in place, but as long as it cools when done, who cares.. Looks like this one will be more fun than the last. Great job making change after change and still having fun with it all.
