Default steel sleeve or not

My question is, would it be wise to steel sleeve an aluminum 5.3 or 6.0 when going with a turbo setup, i'd like to keep weight down but alot of people have been telling me not to go aluminum saying it wont hold up to the added heat and will warp/flex, id love to get some more opinions and advice

ALUM. will hold alot of power but the blocks do flex causing faster wear, biggest thing is the sleeves crack.
put sum good sleeves in it a roll. thay are pricey as hell though

All the fastest appear to be using alum. ERL or RHS blocks. The Ohio Boys FTW.

Superdeck from ERL with a 6 bolt head is the best option for big power.

If you are going to that exspence I would forget about a 5.3 and get a 427!

As for stock block strength, the 5.3 has the thickest sleaves from the factory and so would make a great starting point for boost! Also for what it's worth 1800bhp has been achieved on a stock block (half filled with block filler) before a liner was burnt through. Oh and that was on a ls2 I believe.
