lsx376 turbo selection
im trying to decide what turbo to use. im broke cause of trans issues but i have on hand a s475 83 mm turbine t6, twin 70mm on3s or i was actually thinking of going with a vsracing gt45 88mm. im wanting around 800 rwhp but will settle for less if i can get fast spool. im currently rear mount t78 turbonetics benita and have huge backpressure issues even at 650hp.

I've spent a good amount of time tuning the LS9 cam with a turbo (that exact S475, in fact) and other cams similar to it. I can say the results are always less than spectacular. That S475 will make good power, but not with that cam. It will have trouble hitting 800 at the wheels but it will spool quickly.

Intake, heads, gears, converter...lot plays into it.

If you are really concerned about spool time you can swap to the T4 housing. To be honest though, a T6 with that 83mm turbine won't be too bad at all on a 376 and will make more power, all else being equal. If you're serious about making good power and want to minimize transient response time from the turbo, drop that comp cam you have and send stock48 a message. He'll get you set up with one of his nasty cams that matches your setup and shows awesome power on the dyno, track, and street
