There really needs to be a dyno comparison btw these turbos. Billet versions of all to be fair. Too hard to make a choice when the turbo is the most important part of the system.

It would be nice and we will do it in the future, but it won't give you a clear cut answer. We will test it on one car with one engine, trans, etc. Where as one might out perform another turbo on this set-up, it might not be the same on a different application, however it will be nice info to have! Also I imagine all 3 will perform very similar to one another. The choice in my opinion boils down to brand preference, or what features you want out of the turbo and your specific price point. In my opinion viewing all 3 next to each other, these Comp's take the cake as far as quality goes. This billet wheel, anti surge housing unit is a piece of art

Yeah, if I don't sell my GTO, I think a billet CT43 is in my future.

Reason I ask, my self and a few others have had horrible back pressure issues especially with the billet comp wheel and 79 turbine.

they switched me out to the cast comp wheel and it helped a lot but it was still done at 5200rpm. Since comp sent me a ct5 with a ct43 cover, 88mm comp 94/88 turbine and that thing rocks.

This was 2 years ago so maybe they changed some thing. Just an fyi if you haven't tested yet, I run a 370 ci.
I have the 7879 comp, im having back pressure issues right now. Looking to change my exhaust side to a 4" to see if that helps more.

6.0L, LSA heads. We are investigating on changing the hot side to a 4" with a 4" electric cut out right at the turbo. Right now its the 3" dp. While on the dyno my tuner opened the cutout and gained over 80hp immediately. But this way down the exhaust side close to the muffler ( which is another problem.)

take that muffler off, throw it away ,,, haha only use straight thru muffler . . Im running standard 7879 .96 , made 643rwhp on 16lbs , stock tq converter & th400 ,, prob blowing thru that converter .. and 4.11 gears ,, will be changed in future.. Thats on stock 5.3 with ls3 cam we stoped at 16lbs, cause it was pump gas only , meth kit will be installed next time ., Bout to swap it out for the ly6 , 6.0 l92 heads , see how it does, ill have results in bout 1 month ..

Agree on the muffler, and I have learned a lot lately as I'm trying to soak in a ton of info on turbo setup's. I'm at the same HP level as you on 13psi, once we work out this back pressure issue we will tune for the meth I installed

Are you still running the 3" hot side ?
