Cot dayum! Crazy how far people are pushing theses stock bottom ends. 5 years ago you JUST HAD to have a high dollar forged engine to run these numbers. Love how big power is available so relatively cheaply these days!

That's our car, thanks for all the props guys. We've had a blast with the car, we just built it and got it out earlier this year. We originally put the SBE 5.3 in it, just to gain some experience. We've never ran a turbo, alcohol,or a 275 radial. We really thought we would kill this thing and figured a junkyard engine wouldn't hurt our feelings when it came apart. lol

Slowbu is correct though the PT88 is done, we did add 40lbs to the nose and increased the boost to 30-31psi. That 5.09 pass was almost identical to our previous run, which was a 5.09 on 29psi. Inlet temps and backpressure went up though.

So basically this is the big rod or 05+ year 5.3 with bolts and studs only? Maybe fresh bearings? Good head gaskets? I know some details have been said but owners usually know more details lol.

Yes, it's an 05+ L33. We put stock replacement rings in it and new bearings. Fel pro MLS gaskets. ARP rod bolts and chinese head studs. Grouted the block also.

This is just awesome.

Grouted meaning filled some of it? Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

Think if it was iron you would still need to fill it?

Probably not. but I would, since we're running methanol. Don't need to run water through it.

Methanol keeps it cool enough to do without coolant for the passes? Not a racer so not sure.
