The T4 s480 is plenty as long as you don't go nuts with the cam. The bigger the cam you run, the less back pressure you want. Best to size the cam to the turbo anyway, but thats another topic. That T4 s480 will make over 1000hp at the wheels, and it'll drive nice too. Just have to be smart about it

@ smokeshow, I'll size the cam to turbo but that and everything else aside, I'll be adding another wastegate and fabing downpipe anyway, would you say leave the t4 or go ahead and put a t6 flange on it while I'm there.

I'm thinking t6 since the t6 s480 is $200 cheaper and less backpressure

If you haven't purchased the turbo yet and you're ok with a little more power at the expense of a little slower spool, get the T6.

As for switching to the t6 flange I'm going to order one off amazon just to check out how hard it will be to fit and see what I can do.

@ Twin turbo c5, by "it'll be fine" are you refering to the t7575 or s480?
Yes I meant it'll be fine with the s480.My friend run one for years on a 408 I have it now on a stock lq4

Ok great, I feel like Iike I'm coming to a conclusion. I dont know where I got the t4 s480 being $200 more. Just looked it up and the t4 s480 is about $1,300 and t6 s480 is about $850.

So I think the pro's with t6 s480 are, super cheap, less back pressure, and more power. Cons, have to fabricate downpipe and t6 flange (but I'd have to make a downpipe either way if I go t4)

So I think its decided. Thanks a lot guys, I dont know what I'd do without this forum

Cold side piping may need to be adjusted some....unless you are able to position the compressor outlet in nearly the exact same position. But you can adapt with silicone couplers.

Also, get a divided T6 flange and run each side of the motor to one side with one wastegate on each side. It will make you happy :p

Here is what I have to work with. Would you 1. add a pipe to wastegate in the center on the bottom or 2. cut that one off, weld in the hole, and add two, one per side.

Making the outlet for the cold side in the same location shouldnt be a problem. If the whole hot side needs to go forward any I've already thought about making spacers to go between the hot side and truck manifolds. Up or down any and I can find silicon couplers if the ones I have dont fit.

Question. Is the t6 flange wider and longer or just longer? The width of the t4 flange is the same as the 2.5" piping so if t6 is longer and wider thats going to be a challenge. If its just longer then thats easy

I measured the opening at 2" wide and 2 7/8" long. Anyone know the measurements on a t6?

2x3ish. But I would cut the pipes at the bend right before they turn up, do away with the wastegate section entirely, have the driver's side go into one part of the divided T6 flange on the driver's side and then the passenger side go into the passenger side of the flange. Fit one wastegate on either pipe and call it a day. Give me a sec, I will post a picture of mine if I can find one.

Not the same car, but you get the general idea. For wastegate placement you want to place it where the flow of the gas will be going...try to make it Y off the pipe rather than being perpendicular to it. Mine looks a little odd as the pipes I welded off the C6 manfiolds were a little different for each side. On the passenger side I was making room for the AC should I ever decide to put one on, so it was longer and bent around that area.

The flange with 2.5" pipes going to it...it's not perfect and if/when I redo it I will change some things, but here it is:

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the pics that helps a lot. And I see what you're saying about the wastegate flange angle. Good to know t6 flange will fit 2.5" pipe just fine
