The pickup is uncovered during a hard launch. I (and many others) run 1qt over "full" on the dipstick. Haven't had any issues losing OP when doing this. By the time the car levels out on the second half of the track your OP should be back up?

usually u can hear spark blowout. try gapping plugs at .019

Not to mention it is a twin turbo car so that oil is getting sucked up and pushed into the turbo feed lines, turbo center section and oil returns...probably and extra quart right there.

That sounds a lot like mine. It starts at the top of first gear (usually spinning) when it starts to hook up then continues low till 3/4 of the way through the pass. I think my lifters are loosing prime and not opening the valves far enough for me to make any power. I'm putting it back together now and going to add some oil and do a test hit for data. I will let you guys know what happens.

Yeah i was gonna say the same thing. There have been a few guys that have starved the pick up on the stock f-body pan.

I went with the autokraft pan. I have been 1.29 to 60' with good pressure.

Thumbs up

Its something about the F-Body pans. I have and heard about running the extra 1qt many times on good 60' cars. If this is your problem, 1 additional qt will fix it. Good luck.

If the oil pressure stabilizes when over filled, maybe look into a baffle for the pan. Dan (dschmittie1 on here) runs one of these and has been on his bumper without issue. http://www.improvedracing.com/baffle...ffle-p-30.html

Just went for a test blast and logged some data. Good News is the oil pressure issue is fixed! The extra oil resolved it. Bad news is it's still breaking up under higher boost. I made a hit @ 14 psi and it did it. Sounds like random popping from the exhaust. @ 11 psi it is smooth as can be and pulls harder than @ 14psi. AFR and timing look spot on and do not change when it does it.

When you say you can hear spark blowout how would you describe it? I'm getting a random machine gun sound now.

I just ordered 8 new coils and some AR3933 plugs to try. Hopefully that will cure her. Treated her to a nice System 1 oil filter while I had the wallet pried open.

Get on youtube and search spark blowout I have seen dyno videos of it. Did you get one of the holley EFIs that had the coil issues corrected??

I remember a post similar to this on yellowbullet in the ls section. A guy was having a similar problem with a blower and the holley efi.

I will check that out. I do have the latest version of the Holley. I'm not leaning toward the controller yet. If it is still doing it after I replace the plugs and coils then I may have it checked.

The guy with the F2 Procharged truck? I was checking that thread out yesterday. It looks like that guy had an issue with his billet reluctor wheel having too much run out. He switched to a front pickup and fixed his.

My car is doing the same! Hope you find out what it is. I run NGK 3346, what kind you run? I closed the gap to .020 it helped, but it still there but not as much.

I run 5238 Ngk's right now. 9 heat range. I'm going to try Autolite's AR3933 and new coils soon as everything comes in.

Are you running the holley efi too?

Just pulled the plugs. They look like ****! Found the gap at .030 also. I know for a fact they were not over .025 when I put them in. They were between .020 and .025" wtf

I'd be happy it's something that simple. Regap at .022 and go to town.

That's what happen to the iridium plug I put in. The heat made the gap open from .028 to .040! You may need a colder plug! Another thing that I notice on my car was dropping volts at high RPM, I added a Volt Booster from Casper, and it also was a great help.

I'm just going to throw it out there that I've had Ian issue once or twice over the years with boost controllers not being able to maintain a flat boost level if you add more than a few psi over gate spring pressure.....and also had BOV creep open a bit during passes.

Just something easy to eliminate if it turns out it isn't spark plug related. That's crazy you think your gaps changed. Never heard of that.

Damn! That's crazy. I guess you don't run iridium plugs any more huh. lol According to my logs my voltage is 13.8 the entire pass. I think I found the culprit now. I will post a pic.

Log looks pretty good for boost. It does shoot past my setpoint by a couple pounds at first, but then levels out to my set level. I will have to play with the boost control a little to see if I can get it to keep up. Thanks.
