A2W intercooler for Holley Modular Hi–Ram Intake

We started this project a year ago and are finally tooled up to release it. This started life as a an intecooler for our twin turbo marine engine with fully water-cooled exhaust, but had a lot of automotive customers asking about it. So here it is.
Please note this is a test piece. The production units are milled out of a block of billet aluminum.

Any plans to make a shorter version with a bigger surface area core? If you could get it down to a a few inches in tease in hight but still able to cool the air you might beable to sell more. Just a thought.

The reason for the dual pass is two fold. First, anyone that has seen a high performance offshore boat has seen how the plumbing can get out of hand. Utilizing a dual pass design allowed us to have the huge -16 lines enter and exit at the rear of the motor. This allows the IC lines to be routed with the fuel and raw water supply lines. Second, we get a better efficiency number and more constant IAT's throughout the plenum by running dual pass. Due to the size of the core we have no issues with coolant flow.
We always thought that this would appeal to only a small percentage in the automotive market due to the size envelope. And we are working to make a more compact cooler to broaden the market for our inter cooler line. I hope to have a piece I can test on our engine dyno in a few short weeks. The cores I'm looking at should get us to less than 1/2 of that thickness. I'm hoping not to loose much more than 10% efficiency as we are already near 100% with this design, but only time and test will tell.
Saw this on the bullet for anyone interested in one that's a bit more compact. Also if you wanna see it in action
