Default 2001 5.3 turbo impala ss

hey guys, new to the forum been doin some snooping around for ideas on my build. figured id start my own thread for my build. I have a 96 impala ss that I have owned for 4 years now. lt1 days are over with. it started with buying a lm7 5.3 out of a 01 Silverado.

So far I have striped the motor down. leaving the stock bottom end

-heads got decked, valve job,new seals and ls6 springs
-ls6 cam
-h2 oil pan
-ls1 intake(for now) plan on a diff set up
-80mm bbk tb
-truck manifolds flipped

parts planned
-76mm ar 80 t4 turbo
-2)38mm wastegates or 1)44mm

a lot of stuff to still figure out, learning a lot along the way..

on to some pics

heres the car

YES!!!

I bought my '96 ISS this summer to do exactly this in the next year. The B-body crowd is generally so busy geeking over the LT1 that they snub the easy power gain of an LS swap... and don't even care about turbos. I even have a couple pics of your car saved to my hard drive as a ref for rims, stance, and hood before I bought my car.

Since this is pretty undocumented territory, post as many pics and details as possible. The only other turbo LSx b-body I know of is a '95 ISS with a 92mm turbo, and it ended up being a cobbled mess.

I'll help you out with the pics. To shortcut them on the forum put

I'm doing a similar swap in a 1996 roadmaster once I grow a pair and pull the motor. What are your plans far as wiring?

Why are you adding the extra expense of the autometer gages? One thing I am excited about with swapping the ISS (compared to my '70 GTO swap) is that gages will basically be plug n play, and then I'll add the extra gages as needed. A 160 mph speedo and 7k tach will be plenty for me.

I remember seeing these years ago when I had my 96 Impala SS. I was wanting to do this but had too many irons in the fire at the time. Your build reminded me of these vids and my car. I miss my SS
