Just an air pump. The engine takes air in it has to get it out! As for the misprint, I contacted Jose before ordering my cast 80 with the 92mm turbine with that same question, lol.

And to further that even more I believe a lot of people forget that the compressor and turbine are connected on the same shaft.

What one does the other must do as well. If your turbine can't "keep up" with your engines exhaust volume and compressor speed it will choke. Backpressure skyrockets and power plummets.

Sorry, not trying to jack the thread but I am at the same juncture of trying to choose a turbo for my 408 build. Martin I would like to pick your brain about my turbo/cam selection. Its a 93 pump gas car with meth, driven on the street mostly.

Turbo - CRT BorgWarner HP88 with billet wheel, 96mm Turbine, 1.32 A/R
Cam - 232/238 .595/.605 115 (from my D1SC setup)

A billet 80 starts to run into back psi issues when you start to push it.
Im definitely not arguing that lol. What im trying to say is that all s475's for example should all be rated at the same HP level with different turbines because the flow of the compressor doesnt change, doesnt mean they will all make the same power but on paper they should be the same. Am I right or wrong here?

You are right in a way but it's not quite that simple. A S475/83 on a 2.0L can make as much or more than a 75/92 on a 6.0L and more than a 75/92 on a 7.0L. I agree tho the ratings are pretty vague.

Yea that is basically what I was trying to get across becaude he was comparing hp numbers from the website. I know dam well turbines are a big part of ho capabilities.

That said, if it's a street car, I'd highly recommend the 92mm wheel and 1.25 housing.

I feel that is the best combo of exhaust wheel and housing for a street car with a 370.

With a good turbo cam and the 96mm wheel you'll have no trouble achieving full boost very quickly. Well under 4500rpm and with the 92mm/1.25 quite possibly 4000rpm.
I am doing a similar build so I figured I would ask here instead of starting another thread. I am wondering if the s476 billet is going to be the right turbo for my setup. My goals are about 750-800whp with room to turn it up into the 900-950 range when I get "greedy".

I am planning lq4, rods and pistons, 317 heads etc. Maybe you guys (@tick) can get me set up with the proper cam. Forged rods and pistons for sure, maybe even some nice I beams for good measure. Treadstone 4.5" thick A2A intercooler.

The Turbo Kit has a T4 flange so I was thinking the 476r with 92mm turbine and t4 1.25 hotside, does this sound like it would fit the bill? I am looking for good spool too, I wanna drive this thing around ALOT. I don't want to overspend, but I do want to get the best turbo for the setup. Which vendor on here supplies the s476's?

Is it possible for you to cut off that T4 flange and convert to a T6?
