Remember this car. 8.95@162 6speed built by underground. Cant find a good solid link to the Garth Weaver video record. Think he did 7.98@183 with a t56. I messaged underground on fb asking for a good link to the video. Waiting on response if I ever get one lol.

I love these threads that pop up every now and then, making it seem almost trivial. You guys should hang out in the 6 speed section more. There is plenty of discussion regarding going fast with a T56 speed....The issue is weight and power. People haven't kept the 6 speed alive while simultaneously making the car light enough and making enough power. Either the car doesn't make the power to go 8's or it does make the power but it weighs too much and destroys the T56. The torque that the boosted LS motors make over the curve, combined with the weight, always kills the trans; even with trans mods like the oil sprayers on the 3/4 gear. I think it can be done, but it will take a sub 3000lb fbody and ALOT of money in the clutch/trans. It'll have a better shot with a slow 60' and a ton of top end.
Good luck to 99bluefbody trying to go 8's while keeping to class weight rules.
Alchemist...In my opinion, no way a 6 speed sequential counts. Faceplated T56 is about the limit, which I believe is what Joe Honeycutt had.

i have decided to forsure go though with building a turbo setup. were pretty sure we can make it work. it will be a single 76 mm and base weights for lsx series are 3250 and my local heads up classes are 3350 and 3400 bc they are scared to death of anything lsx lol. the car was around 3250 all last year and the trans looked like new when we just tore it apart at rpm last week. looking to make this thing 60' in the 1.2x range and mph 160+ need to see 5.50s or better in the 1/8 and 8.50s or so in the 1/4 and 1000-1100 hp

he said he couldnt afford to do what he needed to get it there. so he parted it and made it a nitrous car for a short period then sold it. that is what he told me at the wcf. i know i saw turbo parts and the short block fs on here out of it.

Wasn't Garth Weavers viper making 1500ish when it hit 7's with the t56?

I'm not doubting 1000rwhp can be made with a 76mm turbo, hell, a buddies supra does it. I am simply saying that I am not aware of anyone with a stock cube motor or larger making 1000rwhp. So unless blue99fbody is planning on small c.i. motor, I don't see it happening. Got a link to one?

I'd say small cube solid roller motor to keep the torque down and hold on up top. No stock intakes, etc you would need a set up for high rpm and everything working right (cam, intake turbo, etc). That still doesn't tell me how that Viper did it on a t56 without breaking. How many guys have tried it on a 6060?
