Default Is more stroke or larger bore better?

Ok so I'm putting togeather a turbo motor. I'm wondering if you have a set displacement goal and can choose between a larger bore and shorter stroke of smaller bore and longer stroke which is better in a turbo application?

I know in a NA application when you are looking for high RPM the larger bore shorter stroke is better. Less rotating assembly & unshrouds the valves.

But if everything else is equal which is better for a turbo application? Any input and the reasoning behind it would be helpful.

Thanks

People have made well over 1000 HP to the wheels on 2 liter 4 cylinders. Displacement isn't necessarily the end-all answer when it comes to boosted applications.

I'm unsure of why you are curious anyway. Are you trying to decide which OEM displacement engine is the best starting point, or are you planning on building a custom combo?

That being said, most of the LS based engines, with the exception of the 4.8 and LS7, all share the same stroke. So unless you're planning on building a stroker, then you're going to have to decide on displacement based on bore size.

Is this question just a generalization? Are you just wondering for the sake of curiosity?
