Unless the airgap is very wide when in the closed position, it generally doesn't affect boost. Bob

I run the open big red bypass. It's loud but I like the noise. Folks have used the black unit (like The Alchemist) with good success. You aren't running a lot of boost so I think either way you will be fine. If you decide to get the big red unit in an open design, avoid pointing it towards the ground. Some folks using it in this orientation have a good time blowing dust/dirt from the ground into the engine bay.
