That's a great point. I always put a lot of focus on getting the DCR right when building N/A engines, but don't hear much about it with forced induction.

What kind of DCR numbers do cam guys shoot for in a turbo engine?

It all depends on the power level, RPM, fuel type, power adder and even what tire you are running. Turbo car in sig is in the 280* @050 area just to get you in the ballpark.

I have also been wondering a lot about this, as you saw in my thread..
what kind of cranking pressure/dynamic compression would be considered acceptable for boosted application, if you add boost into the calculator it bumps dynamic compression up to like 13:1 at just 8-10 psi from 8.5:1 with no boost..
dont mean to hijack the thread but having a lot of questions myself on cam selection. will be running E85 and a front mount so im sure there is plenty of room to work with. and as stated above there really is not much for boosted applications on dynamic compression a lot for NA though.

Cam I just did for WhiteLTone is late late 240's, and early 240's on a 114..
It went 5.41@128 so far on WG spring.

Yeah, the bigger cams are quite a bit more forgiving in the tune because of the lower dcr. Gotta be more careful with the little guys. You also don't have to spin them as much so there's a tradeoff.

Yup, lots of variables in play that makes it impossible to just say use a "small" cam or a "big" cam. This is where a knowledgeable cam designer (not guys who just read the internet) come into play and the good ones will ask all of the right questions such as was mentioned here.

Don't know of any aftermarket cams out that raise your DCR over stock on a ls1.

Alex a slight tangent but how do you lock up that PI 3600, is it in the tune and when?

But that's probably a solid roller?

Normal driving its done just like stock in the tune. If I want to command it lockedI hit my cruise control accell button. I deleted cruise due to the module being in the way of turbo stuff so now I have it wired to activate the t brake on one stalk switch and the lock up on another stalk switch.

I haven't done this at the track yet but Im really excited to try it out in 2014, that would get rid of all my tc slip and hopefully give me a lot more mph.
