Thank you
It was a Mustang, he needed a head start!
It was the last run for the night and I wanted to be sure to leave on as much boost as possible. The guy in the Mustang stopped by after the pass. He thought it was going to be a good race as we were lined up in the staging lanes. He thought he had me after the holeshot but said he was quickly surprised when I flew by him just before the 1/8.

It is time for a couple of new updates. Slow94formula and I made the journey down to Midwest Chassis yesterday to get a couple of cages.
I picked up a Midwest Chassis 8.50 cert Chromoly cage kit.
I got home and thought I would weigh some of the components:
Midwest Chassis 8 point Chromoly 8.50 certified kit:
Main Hoop: 13.2 lbs
Halo: 9.2 lbs
Pillar Bars: 10.8 lbs (5.4 each)
Door Bars: 10.8 lbs (5.4 each)
Crossbar: 3.4 lbs
Tunnel Bars: 3.4 lbs (1.7 each)
Rear Bars: 8 lbs (4 each)
Crotch Strap: 1.2 lbs (additional to the kit)
Cage Plates: 7.2 lbs
Total Weight: 67.2 lbs
I also picked up a Midwest Chassis front bumper support with fog light provisions for a Trans Am.
The bumper support came in at 5.2 lbs.
I am also planning for some revisions to the exhaust. I am planning to remove the catback and Y-pipe and go with 3" true dual aluminum exhaust out the back.
I have picked up the Founder's Performance Panhard Relocation Kit to allow the exhaust to route over the rear. I also picked up (2) Magnaflow 14419 3" in/out mufflers.
Hoping to get the cage in and exhaust done prior to going back to the track. I am really shooting to head back one last time before Winter. Currently looking at October 4th.

I thought I would throw together a quick update on this. I ran up to One Guy's Garage on Wednesday to get the car from Nate. I had Nate weld the cage in, change the exhaust, make a new charge pipe, and a couple other miscellaneous things. Everything turned out awesome and I should be able to get more photos up as the week goes on. Nate is also a bad influence and talked me into swapping those T3 housings to the T4's. I can't wait to get this thing back together and start tuning it to see the differences with the different turbines as well as the new exhaust. The exhaust sounds much better and should be able to get a GoPro clip of that this week too. A big thank you to Nate for getting me in on short notice and flying through some of this as winter is coming. I want to try to get to the track 1-2 times before the end of October.
New Charge Pipe:
The old one needed to be dented to get it to fit. The IAT sensor was also on the bottom of the pipe which was in the way of the radiator hose.
Old T3 Flanges:
New T4 Flanges Mocked Up:
After getting the car home, the number one priority was getting the cage painted and the interior back together. Slow94formula masked off the car on Thursday and his Dad was able to spray the car on Saturday. Huge thank you to Dale Kiehne. The paint on the cage is awesome. We tried to match the color of the interior the best we can and the clear added an awesome look as well.
Temporary Spray Booth:
Really hoping everything works out and can get to the track on Saturday. We will see how the week progresses. Lots to do at work this week and a bunch of stuff to get ready on the car. The forecast doesn't look the best either for tuning the car. More updates and photos to come!

Was able to get the car all put back together and went out tuning on the street a couple of nights this past week. Had the car dialed in pretty good and figured I would finish the tune at the track.
Here are a couple of photos from the new dual 3" aluminum exhaust installed by Nate @ One Guy's Garage. A couple of the new safety components as well. I will have to get a few more photos of the cage. Also the new T4 housings.

Went to Cedar Falls Raceway yesterday to test out the new combo. I had decided to run the 295 drag radials again because they had worked so well the time before and to leave the 275 Pro's at home. The forecast only showed a high of 48 degrees, and most were really worried about track prep and traction.
Going through Tech
My plan was to make a mid boost pass, and then turn it up on the following passes. They sent the test and tune cars down the track to put some heat in it.
Ready to make a pass
I was probably the 5th pair to run the track and needless to say, there was no more worry about track prep. The car hooked, and started to power wheelie. I could see nothing but blue sky and finally pedaled the car.
The Beginning of the End
Wheelstand
It was definitely a learning experience. I made the mistake of running it out after the wheelie. Needless to say, I ended up going out and helping the track crew mop oil up from me on the track. I won't be making that mistake again. I felt bad for the delay in racing.
New best 60', even with the rear tires. And a new best ET and MPH.
I guess the top of the timeslip is accurate: The home of maximum traction
The wheelie ended up cracking the oil pan. That is the only damage so far that I can see. Will find out if that is the extent or if there was more to it.
It was a cool experience, and there were a bunch of people that said it was awesome. I can say that I did it and will leave it at that.
Here are the details from the pass:
Raceweight:
Tires: 295/55/15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radial. 17psi cold.
Date/Time of Run: October 4th, 11:57AM
Air Temp: 44.6 degrees
Humidity: 53%
Pressure: 29.83
Density Altitude: 468 Feet
Launch Boost: 143kPA (6.04psi)
Peak Boost: 223kpa (17.64psi)
Average Boost through Run: 203kpa (14.74psi)
Timing: 16.5 degrees
Front Shocks: 15C/4R
Rear Shocks: 12C/5R
I will have to check raceweight at a later time and update when the car is mobile again.
Needless to say, I am going to tighten the front extension and start conservatively on the suspension tune up next time.
I watched the racing for a while before getting back to my car to see this:
I guess it pretty much summed up the day.
Video:
The carnage sounds were the Cobra snapping the yoke.
I am sure there will be more photos and/or videos to come.

I will admit, it was pretty cool, as long as I only wrecked the pan.
It hooked and felt just like previous passes. However, as it brought the power in, it kept going up, before you know it, there is nothing but sky.
Most spectators were anticipating both myself and the Cobra to spin. The Cobra blew the driveshaft yoke and mine stood it straight up.
The best part was everybody's reaction as I was getting out of the car. Pretty crazy!
