I had them clamped together and torqued when I welded them. Tacked them, then welded on opposite sides in quarters. Even with the slight flexing allowed from the braided section some don't line up perfectly. I hate the bastards.
They also sell soft alum gaskets for vbands connections you can try.

FWIW, I made centering rings for mine. I used the Columbia river parts. Everything lined up well after final welding if the pipes.
Of course I haven't run the car yet. So who knows if they will leak. Only have 2 in my system.
My first experience with them. There would not have been enough room for the ball and sockets.

So just hammer out my 2.25 pipe into a rectangle to match the divided T4 flange? That's what I planned to do originally, I just wasnt sure if there was a better way to do it.
