Quietest SC'er that will push 15-16psi on a 390ci.....
Just curious which one won't scream so loud you can't hear the stereo.....lol
But make enough psi to be worth it.....
....Looking for bolt-on kit if possible and MUST keep A/C.
-I can run full time E85
-My 390ci will be about 10.2:1 cr after new heads go on.
Might have to scrap my idea of TT......Im based in Kuwait right now, and I'm going to be out of the country 6 months a year. I nice 700-800RWHP SC'er build might better suit me so I have it to drive when I'm home on my OFF DUTY weeks from time to time.
Thanks.

If you want the power without the noise, most would recommend a turbo setup. That being said, most makers of centrifugal chargers actually make quiet versions. I think Vortech makes some that do a pretty good job of keeping the noise down.

I have a YSi, and yes you can hear it, but inside the car it certainly isnt that noisy. It's louder outside than in.
And with it's straight cut gears, would be one of the louder units ( also made worse by spinning it quite hard )
Buy any with the helical cut gears, and I'm sure they'd be pretty quiet. Or go turbo

I'm running a normal, straight cut gear D1SC, make 750rwhp (with boost leak) and it's definitely a mangable sounding setup. With helical gears it would be even quieter.
Don't focus on the psi it makes, since a bigger cube motor will eat up the psi. For me, at 750rwhp, I was right around 17psi on a 347, so on a bigger motor, it might only be 12-13psi, but that's actually a good thing. Less pressure, is less heat. I'd rather make 750rwhp at 12psi than at 18psi.
Here's a normal cruise around the neighborhood... you can hear the blower, but it's not crazy loud. I like it. With helical gears, it would be far quieter.

The Procharger is pretty much the only kit out there.D1 can have the gears changed but I still think they are loud.
For a true 800rwhp I would never trust the ATI bracket or coolers.
We build our own kit's in house that are D1, Aster bracket, custom front mount with aluminum pipes that does not affect airflow to radiator at all, dual fans ect so it cools correctly for 100 degree heat. But we only do them on the cars.
Haven't seen a good bolt on kit out there.

That's it. It really isn't tough putting all those things together. Bob@Brutespeed has it already if you want to go that route.

I have the D1SC-H (helical gears). It was a $100 option over the D1SC and it's very quiet. No chatter or whine. You can tell its there as there is a slight wrrr-ing noise for lack of a better description.
