Default Aster bracket instal look right??

I just installed my aster bracket setup. At the end it says on the tensioner it should be between the top and bottom mark. Does this look right or do I need to move the idler over a hole either way? This is where it sits with the motor off of course. 4.25" blower pulley and 53.5" belt by the way.

I don't have an Aster bracket, but that certainly does NOT look right. That pulley needs to be centered on the belt.

The belt is aligned on the pulley fine. I'm talking about hog far the tensioner is at with the motor off. Aster bracket owners will know what I'm talking about I believe.

Now that I look at it again. The "pulley" I believe you are looking at that you think is off center is actually part of the bracket and not a pulley. It does look like one on the pic though.

Here was mine with the same pulley and belt size

And its been awhile since I looked at mine but you can see that same pulley or whatever it is next to the tensioner that looked out of place in your picture. I think its an ear off the bracket.

That looks fine. Could you adjust the idler so that the tensioner has more movement in it, possibly, but then it's going to be extremely difficult to get the belt on.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like I'm good. Did you gain any boost from switching from the stock j bracket to the aster setup? I'm still stock motor so I'm a little worried about that haha.

I never ran the j bracket, I over built everything from the start so I wouldn't have to swap parts later when I went bigger. I'm on the stock motor too but ended up have to go to a larger pulley to get the boost down to 8psi to keep things happy for now.

Yep that looks good tension wise. From what I was told from Aster on mine when I was having issues.

Yea I'm at about 12# right now with stock bracket and 4.25 pulley. I hope boost doesn't go up too much!

I was 11psi with the 4.25 and bobs blower cam at 5700. I now have a 4.75 pulley and making 8psi at 61-6200. My biggest problem was the fuel pump was maxed out so I went with a bigger pulley at the time. Eventually ill do a twin pump and put together a bottom end.

Same here, racetronix 255 with the hot wire. I was able to get 550rwhp with it with my afr close, seemed like other people were getting more but oh well. I have meth too just for a little extra fuel and cooling.

Mine made it to 640 when it was new. A year later it only made it to 595.

That looks perfect. You want to have some space at the top of tensioner so when you get out of the throttle there is no contact.

I logged the car last night. 13.15# at like 6350 rpm. Going back to the dyno Saturday to see what it makes now. It was at 12# on the stock j bracket and made 664/551 on the 12# @ 6600 rpm
