Any pics of te turbo mounted by chance? Btw thanks for all he info!
That was exactly my problem which is why I mounted them this way Ill have to throw it together and take a pic this weekend before I pull the old block/trans out. Got another 12 hr shift tomorrow. Try rotating your exhaust housing you can always clock the center section so its not turned you will be surprised how much room you can get. Notice how my flange is not installed parallel to the frame rail.

I do have a pic of the turbo in on the hotside just not one with them together.

That is pretty much exactly how I was going to mount mine lol. Down pipe out the side of the bumper. Only thing is I still have the core support in the stock location with radiator sunk inside it. You have enough room for the lower hose? Looks kinda tight lol. I was just looking through your threads, car should fly when you get her going.

Im going to have to make a custom hard pipe for the lower hose connection. Theres just enough room. Should have my motor this week plan to have it running in early march. Thanks

I made the upper core removable but if you notice in the pics its installed so my rad is in the same location. Makes it much easier to pull the engine and trans together.

Didn't realize rotating it like that could give that much room!

Thanks for taking the time to take/post pics.

You can also gain about another 1/2" of clearance buy triming down the shrouds face that touches the radiator. Its about 7/8" thick thats what I plan to do since I only have about 1/4" between it and my turbo with the new 2 1/4" hotside. I am also coating the turbo hotside hopefully I wont have any issues melting the shroud.

Good to know. I'll have to find some fans to use for mock up. Yours is a t6 right? I'm still using 2-1/4" but t4 flanged.

Yes my flange is a T6. The hardest part is finding the sweet spot to clock the hot side so it fits between the shroud and doesn't get into the belt track my S480 has about a 1/4" of clearance between the shroud and the same on the other side away from the belt.

As promised pics of the turbo/kit and rad/shroud together to show it can be done. Had to trim some of the passenger side fans guard off to get it in. Keep in mind this is a S480 so its pretty large, This fan setup will work without trimming for turbos with smaller dimensions like the OP's PT88 or any T4 combo used on the traditional huron speed style combo. And off course if with S400s as well with 5 minutes of trimming.

So for anyone with cooling problems that are related to poor CFM flow since ditching the original fans and shroud here is you fix and it looks almost OEM.

Thanks for the pics and info. Looks like your set up fits like a glove! Looks like a factory style set up and a great option for even guys running a larger charger.

Has anyone used the factory Fbody wiring to power these?

Just picked up the dual contour fans for $70 shipped from a junk yard. They are slim. I will post pictures and ac results when it stops snowing

Long time bump but had a question; how'd you secure the fans to the radiator? I can't see very well and haven't messed around with anything myself to try and fit it

You can go to autozoo and grab you some Fan Zip strap deals, or you can weld some straps to the radiator (the route i'll take) bend them up and over the fans, and blammo, they aint going no wear.

I bought two Extreme puller fans from Spal but ended up having to use pushers on my set up. The fans are rated at 3100 cfm and are 12 inches. I can't use them and they are brand new so if someone can use them make me an offer thats reasonable and they are yours.

I wired mine to run on high speed only so I bypassed the resistor. The resistor comes as part of the fan its the plug in the bottom left corner of the pic FYI. Its only purpose is to limit starting current and operate the fans in slow speed.

I installed a 70A relay triggered from the stock ECU power wire going to the stock fans. I also put a toggle switch in here as well so I could turn it on to cool the car in the pits after a pass.
I used a 60A inline fuse.
8 gauge wire
I never measured the current draw though. But the stock alternator had no trouble keeping up with these and both 255's running.

Not my picture, this is the stock wiring.
great info, going to try this on My GTO... Need more fan over the stock ones...
