Brian the MP GT45 uses a slightly different flange, but bolts right up to a T4. The flange itself is only .2ths of a inch wider. The bolt pattern though is the same.

BigBos, a T70 will flow about 84 lbs/min max. To find hp, just multiply by 10.86 for a standard IC cooled motor.

JZ this is off topic but are you the same JZ that knew Doug Novinger, Ken C and those guys? Did you head to the Atlanta F-body gathering in 97? If so I think I met you there. I know Doug well and I believe your SS and his were very close in production numbers?

did you post on that old board way back 6-7 years ago?

Anyways it's cool to see you in the FI world

I had a 94 Z-28 and then a 95 ATI powered Z28 that was in ATI's ads for a while.

Things are good man how about you?

I have been in touch with Doug off and on over the past few years. My wife (Lorie) and I actually lived and worked down in Maryland (Gaithersburg) for a year on contract so we saw those guys all the time. I sold the 95 and bought the 98 Formula back in 99

Music wise we put out one full length CD that did really well on the East coast. (Nominated for a couple of MIA (Music industry association awards and 6 months in the top ten)

We relocated up to Toronto and worked up here for while and did an ep but our guitarist ended up moving back east and eventually the singer did as well. With full time jobs and busy schedules it was impossible to pursue the band like we needed too. It was fun but exhausting

I am trying to get down to MD again this fall. Are you still on the east coast?

Actually I'm doing great, got married almost 2 years ago, and its been great. I live in North Alabama, and will be going to G8 this year also. Have you heard from Ken and Mary any?? Last I heard they sold the Comp T/A and Firehawk for some reason. How is Doug and his car, its been a while since I have heard from him too.

JZ,

Well, I am not sure if ya remember, but we had been talking about the MP turbos, well, the fella I got mine from was trying to get me a 1.15 A/R housing and well to make a long story short he couln't get it right away and upgraded me to the GT45 for the money i had already sent him for the housing.. I am gettin nervous now as i have not seen any compressor maps of this turbo and from this post i was wondering what you think this turbo is gonna behave like on a Low CR 355... I really don't care too much about quick spooling as mentioned in the other posts as much as i do about top end performance.. but running at or too near the surge limit can't be good... is this GT45 gonna be way to much for this build? the CR is going to be around 8.8:1 or so, with good flowing heads and I posted everything else about the motor in a previous post, it is an LT4 4 bolt block and going to be using the stock LT4 camshaft with 203/210 duration just under .500" lift on a 115 lsa.. please input wisdom here..lol thanks a bunch man!

i belive it is the 42 that you said that uses the same bolt pattern as the standard t-4 series.

also the housing that I have now is the 4 bolt style, i dont suppose that either of those turbos have that one as an option so I can use the existing downpipe do they?

thanks

Chris the GT45 should work fine. Its actually a hybrid style turbo. The inducer is only around a 70mm, but the exducer is a large 97mm. So its kind of an oddball unit. Also the exhaust side is huge with a 77mm inducer and 88mm major, its much larger then even the new GTS series wheels that PTE uses with the standard T4's. Just by looking at all the specs, I suspect the turbo will spool quite fast and have alot of top end due to the big 97mm exducer. Also the larger compressor cover and turbine housing will help flow even more.

Ed the 42 is a T4 flange, as far as 4 bolt downpipe, I guess you are referring to the Donut style flange over the V-band flange. They only come in V-band though, but converting takes maybe 10 min with a good welder. I will pm you a $
