Compressor maps?

Compressor maps? How do you figure out how much HP a turbo will support at a specific boost level? For instance i'm thinking about picking up a new T70 BB turbo with a .96 A/R and Q trim turbine. I'm trying to figure out if it will work for what i want. I know how to find the pressure ratio for a specific boost level. Like the ratio i'm looking to run is 1.8 (12psi) but how do i convert the LB/min or CFM into a max HP that it will support? FWIW i'm looking to make around 600rwhp. Thank for your assistance.

Thanks. Sorry about that, It's a 346 and i'll spin it up to 6200rpm so judging by your graph you made i'll need 65 LB/min @ 12psi? I'll take a look at the comp. maps when i get home and see how it looks. Any idea how to convert LB/MIN into HP?

The conversion is HP=10.86 * (lbs/min). That will give you flywheel horsepower. The 65lbs, is what the engine will consume at that rpm. I used an EV constant of about .85, and an IAT temp of 100 F. That is about normal for a nice A/A setup. If it were water to air, then we would input about 70-80 deg.
