total timing with e85

Default total timing with e85

I just got my new forged bottom end motor running and was running 116 race gas before with 50/50 water meth coming in at 10 psi. Timing was pulled back to 20 total..
The bottom end has around 10-1 comp now and went to e85 and straight meth. What timing do you guys suggest now?
any other info you guys would want to make a suggestion?
301cu in, blow through, 475, 243 heads..

my plugs look pretty happy with about 19* up top. 14* at peak torque. I know plenty of people who are over 20* but its all setup specific

ok thanks for the tips. my problem is im carbed and timing is a new program that I don't know. I am hoping to get there but im thinking I should find someone to help me program my 6010 to 15* down from the 20* it if im going to run the 18psi mark or drop my boost down to 12 to 15psi.. Plus now I am not sure of compression, I was told it should be 9.5 to 10-1 but the pistons are touching a bit on the bottom lip of my stock 243 heads even with ls9 gaskets so I am prolly going to have to pull the heads off again to get this right.. for the second time on this new motor.. dammit..

Im running a 10:1 313ci (3.90x bore with a 3.26 stroke)lsx with a CSU blow thru e85 carb and im running 23* at 23 psi. pulling to 7900rpm with twin 61mm turbos with the MSD 6010 box.

What cam? I would run less timing than you did with race gas. Start out low work your way up. E85 is not as slow burning as c16. E85 will need less lead IMO.

cam is 215/225 at .050, 111.5+4.5, .632/.629

A lot of things come into play with timing, keep an eye on plugs and time slips. Cam, compression, AFR, charge temp, piston design, and piston dwell time (rod length) will have a big effect on timing.
