Default Exhaust housing advice needed

Guys I'm in need of advice based on real world experience. I have a Comp 78/79 CT43 turbo with the billet impeller and .96 a/r housing. It was on my LS1 that killed a piston. I'm upgrading to a 6.0. I spoke with Comp and they offer a 1.15 and 1.32 housing. I plan to run ~15lbs on the 6.0. Both the 1.15 and 1.32 housings are divided. The flange is a T4 regardless of which one I choose. Which one would would you go with and why?

I am afraid the .96 will cause back pressure problems and won't make proportionate power over 7-8 lbs (maybe less).

I think that if it'll make enough power for your goals you need to stop worrying about back pressure.

I don't have any numbers or track times yet but I am running a 1.32 A/R on my LQ4 and my forged motor (when it goes in)..... I am running a t6 though.

I didn't see it listed but if you are an auto with a good converter I wouldn't see the 1.32 being a problem. I have seen a lot of guys run them on 5.3s and still have good ETs.

The car is getting a 4l80 and a nice Circle D converter when the new engine goes in. It shouldn't have an issue spooling. I ask the question because I don't have any experience with the different size housings. There is a great deal of discussion regarding back pressure that causes a direct correlation to power loss when boost levels are increased. In my research, there have been many 5.3 T6 combos with huge a/r housings. I can't seem to find anything about the T4 housings though. Assuming it is the same usually bites me.

What are you trying to accomplish? Any goal as far as et or trap? FWIW my lq4 with a tc76 (68mm exh wheel and .96 exh housing) doesn't seem to be choking me too bad, guess I'd have to switch turbos to really know. But at 15psi and pump gas I have been 9.86@140 with it and through a full exhaust. So I would think a 79mm exh wheel and 15psi would be fine.

I would be very happy with a 9.99 at what ever trap speed. Sounds like I will have try it and see what happens!
