Default Fbody Procharged guys filter question

Right now I have a truck hat with big K&N on it. Its not working as it keeps coming off and ive tried everything to make it work. Im now over it and thinking about doing a screened bellmouth assembly like Bob sales:

http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-3PCAI...-3PCAI-101.htm

Does anyone run one of these on these street? The blower is quite low to the ground so im just worried about sucking dirt up or something. I dont daily drive the car and dont live on a dirt road. Seems to me like if some dirt got into it, the majority of it would just go out the bypass valve unless WOT of course. I was going to make a small sheild under the blower to keep alot of debriss from even making its way up to the blower in the first place. Anyone have any luck with this?

I wouldn't recommend eliminating the filter on a street driven vehicle.

This is my setup. I have never had issues with it coming loose.

Have you tried lining the inside of the filter with doubled-sided tape along with a good band clamp. Supporting the filter since it long and heavy can keep it from vibrating loose.

With the truck hat, you need to trim off the edge that has the ridge on it. Once you trim that, you can get the clamp flush against the inlet of the blower and it'll hold the inlet hat on with no issues.

Added one specific to your description. Hope you don't mind.

I don't mind at all. Pretty sure everyone knows that when it comes to using clamps in FI, it's t-bolt clamps at a minimum. Some guys go further who are running higher psi, but t-bolt clamps are a given.

T bolts clamps are never needed on the intake side of a supercharger. (No Pressure) Only reason I brought it up is because he has a truck hat on an F-Body that falls off without one.

I had a t bolt clamp on it. It's and the wrong angle or something and the filter rubs the fog light hole and causes it to fall off

I don't use that big cone filter like many others use. It fits lousy for my likings.
I use a 45 degree silicone coupler off the truck hat with an oval filter that ECS uses on their C5 system so it tucks up inside the fender neatly. Then I trimmed the splash shield accordingly.

After trying some more it looks like try truck hat is not an option, even if I put a 90 on the end. So back to my original question, has anyone ran just a screen on the front and been fine? I planned on making a shroud/shield for the bottom of the Procharger FYI. I need to figure something out pretty quick as I have to drive the car this weekend.

Me personally, running an engine without a filter is a risk I'm not willing to take. Some guys do it at the track, and can get away with it since it's a more controlled environment, but on the street, to me, it's not worth it. I'd rather give up hp than worry about sucking in debris.
