its making 610 now on a 383 with around 13-14 psi. thinking of going with cog setup, better heads, larger cam, 90mm intake, and 100 octane. you would think that all of that stuff together would be worth 100 hp or so!

tell me what you guys think...

well, its running 93 octane, 224/232 camshaft, some 3 year old heads that made 390 on motor with a small cam (3 years ago), 12 bolt, and 13-14 psi, ls6 intake, kook headers.

I wouldnt go cogs. I run 8 rib and am making 18 psi. If I where you I would go t a fmic and you will pick up some boost from those small D1sc inercoolers. you might be close. I make around what you do with 14 psi and a smaller cam and th400. i just picked up 4 psi with the fmic and I am hoping to make 700.

Go with a bigger cam/head combo.A Cam like a 234/240 .600/.610 on a 114 with 4 degree's advance. The Heads should be a stage 2 setup with 2.06/1.60 valves with 225cc+ intake runners. You should easilly hit your goal with less boost than you run now.

Hey scott,

What do u mean u picked up 4psi with the FMIC? Same pulley as before? I thought a larger IC would cost u some boost, not gain boost.

NO NO man....... like i said....... you are craming tons of boost ino the small stock intercoolers and only so much can flow thru there and after that it starts to back up...... kinda like a clogged drain. If the blower was producing 18psi, but the intercoolers were restricting it and not letting air flow thru it then you will se a boost drop. If the intercooler can flow that much more you will still get a boost drop from the blower side of the intercooler, but you should see a rise on the intake side after the intercooler... it makes since...... you can only force so much air thru something before you need a bigger hole......

It make sense, but its not always true right? If u have a small blower and the intercooler was efficient for the blower u will see a boost drop if u puta larger intercooler right?
