I'm surprised more people aren't running composite body work. The weight saving can be massive! In fact I have even seen carbon engine plates in some high end supercars. With the correct layup and resin can on can be as strong steel per thickness yet a fraction of the weight.

If you need added strength, ie in the doors, you can add Kevlar for an even stronger composite with only a slight increase in weight.

It's tough. With staying 76's I can weigh less than those monster 88's. I can't be over weight and still be competitive. The car will be safer, faster and lighter. Well thats the plan anyway, lol.

With that many miles the hole in the roof should be covered under factory warranty right ?

Looking good, best of luck this year. In for the final results

We are doing one of our carbon fiber roof conversions on this car. T-tops at 200+ scare me and the 80+ pounds of weight savings on the top end are a big help!

Lol what's the trick to getting them to answer the phone? Waive a crap ton of cash in their face? I've tried to call them about a few questions on the turbos I bought from them and not one peep out of them. Guess they got what they wanted.

Chassis should be back in 2 weeks. We are going to move the I/C to the nose of the car, hoping for less heat soak and much shorter cold piping runs. We have to remove the radiaor to have room to face the turbos forward and the I/C. The Chassis work from Midwest Chassis is awesome!!!!

Carbon roof and rear bumper mounted up, new parachute mounts, new firewall, and working on the I/C relocation.
