I used to run my GN at 17.5 boost with good 93. At the track 19.5 psi on 106. It went well over 100,000 miles no probs till it got stolen.

I agree with Joenova but I dont have no where as much LS experience as most of the guys in this thread but I have been messing with boosted motors since the mid 80s and what I have learned over the years is that its usually not the power that kills the motor. Its usually the greed of the tuner. Timing is a killer and detonation is 9 times out of ten what hurts stuff.
I think a 4.8 will take just about anything you can throw at it as long as you have the support to make it all work. I also think that if you can try to make the power a little later in the rpms so you dont have the very high cylinders pressures in the low RPMs it will help the rods.
The last thing is that I see allot of guys using meth and thinking that its the cure all fuel. It does work great and you can make allot of power with it but I also watched many of guys back in the day kill gaskets on the turbo Buicks because they expected to much from the meth. I started using meth on my Buick 20 years ago and never had a problem with it and thats because I always respected it.
I would like to see someone take a 4.8 on C16 with a little meth for extra cooling and let it eat. I think it would blow some minds.

WOW I believe it. I have seen some guys do some dumb stuff with the Buicks and C16 saved them.

Thats crazy. I will say though that it looks like you have been around the Buick scene for a while so you know all about turning up the boost.

That's funny that you mentioned the meth. That's exactly my next step since I have completely maxed out my s475 turbo. My objective is to work on air density not so much detonation suppression. Meth injection with Q16 (oxygenated).

I would think youd want more water than meth

Update, car was tuned by jason at fbc this week. 11.6 lbs and washer fluid mix made 500 spinning on the dyno. Tires looked like gum smeared. This is also through a unlocked t400 on a mustang dyno. Cant wait to see what comes of.it when.we have more time . There is so much more still in it.
