Wow. How did Jim ever get a plug wire on those back cylinders? Looks like you would need to drop the K member and remove the headers to get any work done. Props for the custom work but DAMN!

Man, I did'nt realize that you have to be a contortionist just to check plugs on that set-up. My previous twinturbo kit was also a real pain to change the plugs, which is what really made me decide to change the whole thing. I guess when you're a lot younger, you don't really mind putting up with things like that, but once you start getting older, you loose patience real quick. Lol!

LT1s only need the #1 plug changed. Ever.

Needs to see some more pics of that setup! Would love to see the headers.

Wasn't chris from cbr doing a twin turbo setup using logs that mounted the turbos where you want them?

Modular Turbo sells it for LS1 cars but it's a bit on the steep side. Don't get me wrong it's a very nice kit but who has $10k sitting around to plop down on a turbo kit? Also, AFIK they won't sell individual pieces like the manifolds or K member or didn't last time I checked.

Dang... That K member with the built in tubes for the turbo inlets. How very cool....
Also mentioned in that very lengthy thread about the oiling system not needing a scavenge pump. I like that as well. Looks like I'll be spending a fair amount of time under my car daydreaming about how to position everything. I already have a Tubular K member but it's not the 'Turbo' K-member. It's the regular one. Interesting stuff.
Thanks for the great ideas!

My first turbo hotside (Log manifold by Jon aka "Realquick") was setup pretty ideally for plug changes, although cylinder 5 was the unfriendliest due to the proximity of the primaries and the steering shaft. My current tubular header hotside is good for plug changes except #1 is now contentious. I have to have a shorty accel plug for that guy and it's damned difficult to find a good angle, whether above or below where you can get your hands in there to start the plug. I've changed the plugs about 4 times since I put on the kit and that's the only one I dread. If I had a cuss jar, I'd be rich from the contents.

Here's hoping but everyone I've seen mount the turbos in that area end up using a scavenge pump.

You might look into one of BMR's SBC K members (KM015) with the vertical stands as well. It "should" work for a LT1 and provide similar clearance to the LS version.
