98 Ls1 turbo checklist.
Want to keep stock shortblock, maybe add rod bolts, and have a set of 317s to drop compression a little bit. I am asking for advice on my intended setup.
317s with a valvejob and springs. (How much lift should I spec these for?)
Ls9 cam with ls7 lifters and hardened pushrods. Intend on using ls9 gaskets as well.
Either the factory ls1 intake and tb or my Professional Products 85mm.(Should I sell the intake and run the stock one, already own the PP?)
Walbro 255 or 340 with 60 lb Injectors?
Masterpower T76, or similar turbo. (what's a good wastegate, BOV?)
Large eBay air to air intercooler.
I'll have a good wideband installed. I know I'm missing some parts, and I'd like to have Decent boost controller. Seriously considering switching to e85, but would like some advice on that as well. I am assuming that ill have to install a vertical radiator too, unless I relocate the battery and place the turbo in that spot. All advice appreciated, other than "forge it, go iron block," or other things like that. I know it won't be dirt cheap, but as a father of 3 I don't have the extra funds to drop 10000 on a turbo setup. Car will be 95 percent street driven. Hopeful to hit 450-500whp through a stalled auto and 3.73s.
