I agree with Joe on the bore size. Why risk making it weak like an LS1/LS6?

Pump gas and meth work very well but saying he needs to buy a drum of E85 is crazy. Ive been on this stuff for 3 years and have never had any issues. Idk if you are in the midwest, but we have E85 everywhere here in OH and MI. Ive filled up at plenty of different stations and raced through it all, without checking it, and my car sees a couple road trips a year. People who blame E85 for their problems either dont have the tune for it or are just uneducated. There is actually little difference between E85 and E70 and if you dont tune on the ragged edge with 85%, you can beat the hell out of your car with a 70% blend and no tuning changes.

Im not bashing you, it's just funny how complicated people try to make this whole E85 thing. Its ALL in the tune, and it always has been.

Not everyone has the luxury. Some people are hell bent on running E85 to the point where they will drive 50 miles for a fill up. At this point it becomes smart to buy more than you need and fill it up yourself. Drums are cheap. If you only plan on using the car as a weekend warrior or local cruiser, you shouldn't have to drive that much of a distant every couple of weeks to refill.

It might sound absurd to some, but a plastic drum for alcohols and corrosives only runs about 20 bucks. The problem with E85 in some areas is scarcity. You might have to plan ahead if you want to run it.

E85 is scarce for me. Just 2 stations locally. Fortunately 1 within 10 minutes. And it's 85% year round.
Mine is a street strip car, I won't be driving it very far at any one time.

Jax, I have seen the LS 1/6 crack sleeves. It happens often when #7 piston lets go on NA cars. A good friend lost his forged 383 pro charged that way too. Was able to save it with two sleeves. Not saying they all bust, but there is little room for error.

Doesn't mean it didn't happen,......

Type cracked sleeve into the search bar. Would've taken you less time than posting that you haven't seen any.

And he attributed it to a bad tuneup...hit part of the fuel map that wasn't tuned yet
