Do you guys with the manual boost controllers try to select a spring that is the closest to or just slightly under what your target boost is, or do you go with the lowest rated spring you have and let the boost controller do the work?

Just wondering if selecting a higher rated w/g spring allows for more stable/responsive boost vs a very light spring with more boost controller action.

if you want 15psi of boost I'd rock a 8-10 psi wastegate spring and control it up from there.

I go with a spring closest to my desired boost. a spring that can get you about 9lbs works very well, its what i have. I have been between 9-16lbs but no matter where im at (except 9lbs), it always drops 1lb of boost by redline. Hoping an electronic will hold it a lil better but i have no big complaints about my MBC

I would buy a spring for the LOWEST boost setting you would want to run, and then boost control up to what you want to run on kill.

Gonna swap out the 7 psi springs for 10 psi and see what we get. Just curious if these manual controllers still add boost on the lowest setting?????????????

Following along! I just have the springs in, someday I'll get a manual controller.
So I'm curious how this goes.

I would run a spring closest to what boost pressure you would like. Less chance of exhaust back pressure opening the wg up top.
