Default Almost in the 8s

Long story short, been playing with junkyard engines all last yr and scattered the stock bottom end ls2 wensday the day before we where to leave for kc2k14.
Me and four good friends work for 26hrs straight to get the new engine built and put in the car to make kc2k.

forged bottom end, 10.8 comp. untouched ls3 heads, with a stock ls2 gto cam (the old engine took out the spec. cam)
19.8 psi on the big end. leaving on 5psi on the tbrake.

best et was 9.02 @149mph and run 2 was 9.03 @ 153mph.
car was not cert. nor was i,

the track was not very happy with me. but they where very cool about it..

cant thanks the guys enough for all the help.... and never did i think the car would go 9.0 with only 1.5hrs of run time/tuning on the way to the track

Seriously! That is some serious carnage, I'm glad you weren't hurt! Hell of an ET and MPH on the current setup too!

When it blew sounded like pop corn popping under my feet..
right side of the engine bay was on fire luckily it was right in front of my house so we got it out before to much burned up

Wow that thing really flew apart! That's a junkyard Ls motor you can mount on the fireplace mantel and say, look what I've achieved lol!

Congratulations Kent. When I saw the video on FB, I was pretty blown away. I bet you're itching for that 8 second pass. I think you've proven turbo is the way to go.

And imagine what a turbo spec'd cam would do for that setup.

Once we got the heads off of it, num 6 piston was the only piston that was gone the other 7 where all at the top of the holes in perfect shape as in all the tops/rings where intact, 3 out of 8 rods where still in decent shape but they where VERY bent( look like a S shape)
got the crank out and seen where every piston came to close the the bob wights on the crank and took the bottoms of them off...lol kinda funny how good the top of the pistons looked compared to the bottom of them.
and yes i was very unhappy knowing i had less then 48hrs to spec and rebuild another engine to make kc2k event

In my opinion, The engine let go from bending the rods at some point in the tuning process of the engine and it just let go when i was pedaling it in the vid. The three rods that where still intact where bent in a s shape.

the trans broke from stupidity on my part, those little clips that hold the cups in the yoke.... dont forget to put them in
